Update on the THORChain drama (linked in the comments).
My opinion: Messy situation, but 60% Luke Parker is right, 40% the THORChain folks are.
Yes, it should all have been handled with grace and humility, but I should point out that neither side really displayed this (including in this thread).
Ultimately though, every business leader should honor their agreements/commitments if at all possible, even ones they mistakenly made, or (authorized) others made on their behalf.
Leaders learn how to take Ls first and foremost (that's why it's the first letter).
Taking the L and giving Luke the money he was owed on a technicality would have been the best path forward. It's a lot of money, but if it could be afforded, the (maybe unseen) reputation gains would have paid off, I think.
But at the end of the day, it's not my business, or my money, and I still respect both parties involved and am grateful for their contributions to the space.
Onwards.

I agree with this.
the hit to the brand costs more than the payout.
In my businesses Brand trumps everything for value.
Time to move on
Sadly they've made some mistakes like this in the past, so I'm not optimistic they won't do it in the future.
true.
Like I always say too many amateurs in the crypto space.
This is amateur level behavior not professional.
but we continue to build and improve the world.
You should see the uphill battle I fight in gaming industry.
Yet THORChain have built one of the smartest, best-engineered, and most useful pieces of tech in the entire space. They're very close to being the most professional.
Maybe it's just arrogance, thinking they can't be replaced.
maybe. Arrogance can be a sign of amateurs.
Hopefully they grow into what the space needs. But making money and good tech doesn’t make you the best to the lead
What would crypto be with drama. I have a fair whack in Cosmos and we have had our fair share of public dramas in the past few years!
LOL I've heard of the legendary Cosmos drama!
Yeah legendary is not far wrong!
I never got deep into Cosmos but loved a lot of tech-adjacent projects (THORChain/Maya, Dash Evolution was originally Cosmos-based).
gotta love crypto drama haha
Never ends! I like to observe from a safe distance.
