Three Tune Tuesday with La Quinta Estación

I've been participating in Three Tune Tuesday now for quite some time, and it's always been a lot of fun to put together something different every week. Those who have seen my posts over the last year or so know that I tend to share hard rock more than anything because it's a lot of fun. It's great for driving especially if it's late at night it helps keep those eyes open!

The last couple of days I have been listening to more music in Spanish, it's something that I learned to love while living in South America and the Caribbean. I've shard quite a bit on posts about #ninetiesfriday because I spent most of the 90's living in countries that mainly spoke Spanish. But today I felt like doing something different for this Tuesday. So this week I'll be sharing a band from Spain.

La Quinta Estación

La Quinta Estación (The Fifth Season) were a band from Madrid, Spain. After failing to find much following in Spain following their first album they decided to move to Mexico City, Mexico to seek a larger market. Their second album Flores de alquiler (leased flowers) was released in 2004 initially in Mexico and then the United States and quickly went multiplatinum with huge sales worldwide. What first impressed me about the band was the lead singer Natalia Jiménez. She has an amazing voice! The band only lasted until 2010 when Natalia started a solo career. But they made some great songs!

The first couple songs came of that before mentioned album Flores de alquiler, first up is a song that they gave a bit of Mexican mariachi flare: El Sol No Regresa (The sun doesn't come back):

Next up I put in probably their biggest hit, Algo Más (Something More). it was this song that first introduced most people to Natalia's phenomenal vocal abilities.

And last up is one off of their last album Sin Frenos (Without Brakes), this song is Que te Quería (That I Love You), a little more upbeat and you can tell they had a bigger budget to work with on the video at this point in the bands career!
