A Beautiful Silver Bar from the UK

Happy weekend everyone!

I must say I am enjoying my Saturday. I haven't gotten a lot done so far, but that may be why I'm enjoying it so much! It's relatively warm outside so I'll probably take a nice walk later, assuming it isn't raining since it's thirty percent chance of rain. And for those of you who surf, there is a high surf warning in southern California today. Personally I hate surfing so that one won't be affecting me. I could never quite master getting up on the board and staying there even though I tried and I tried!

Moving on to reason I'm posing today, I have this cool one Troy ounce silver bar that I picked up sometime ago in a jewelry shop. I didn't know much about it but it was obviously English from the design which I though was pretty cool!

JBR Recovery LTD is a company based in West Bromwich in the UK which is just outside of Birmingham if you've ever been to the UK. I didn't know that off hand but Google maps are very convenient. What's interesting about the company is they recover silver and gold from industrial waste especially the photographic industry that has used a lot of silver. It's nice to find a company utilizing waste from other industries and producing useful products. Silver seems to be their biggest product which is refined and poured into bars for sale. According to their website they produce 250 tons of silver annually, now that's a lot of silver.

From http://www.jbr.co.uk/index.html

This came from their website, just imagine how much silver they are pouring into bars there!

I have always collected more silver coins and rounds than bars for some reason, but there is nothing like holding a nice heavy 10 ounce bar of silver in your hand. Unless of course it's a gold bar which would be much more fun! They are a great way to store wealth in the form of silver since they can be packed away nicely into silver containers and stored away in your safe or other secure holding facilities.

Well that will do it for my Saturday post. I hope you found it interesting though shorter than my normal ones, but it is Saturday... If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments please feel free to leave them below. Thanks for stopping by!

And my disclaimer:
Gold and silver collecting and stacking can be a fun hobby but isn't for everyone. You can lose money. I'm not a financial advisor and this isn't financial advice, please always do your own research before spending your hard earned money.

JBR certainly makes some nice silver. The front kind of reminds me of an Asahi bar.

It’s always nice to find a company that uses reclaimed silver to mint Silver bars!😊
When I worked in the graphic arts, we reclaimed thousands of dollars from silver, from film processing!

That is awesome! Now that film processing is a thing of the past there must be a lot less silver used I would imagine.

The digital age changed everything…..
Graphic design that was produced using film, can now be done easily on a home computer……..
Time marches on Lol😇

That re-blog lottery was fun, but honestly it got old. Thanks for the compliment! I'm still putting something together for today.
