The Weight of Expectations: Christmas as an Adult.

There is always a saying that things doesn't last forever and this is a truth fact because I have noticed it. Gone are the days when I was still younger and when it's time for Christmas my mom will always come to me to take some measurements which I know most people already know what the measurements are for. And for those who don't know, it's the measurements of the size of shoes I wear because it's Christmas. Whenever I see this, my brain tells me that it's time for Christmas and I should start preparing to get gifts and have fun to the fullest.

Then my mummy will always tell me that all these things she was doing are just for some time and then when it's time when I get older everything will stop, and I will be the one returning it to them. I find it hard to understand, and she will tell me not to worry, that when the time comes she will make me understand better. But now, she had not told me anything again, but yet I remembered she once told me something of such, and I had to work very hard to now make sure that they enjoy during Christmas.

Now they say adult hood is a scam because you are not getting anything from anyone as a guy, and this is applicable to some other gender too. But as a guy and a man who the family depends on, you really need to be up and doing. No more Christmas cloths like because, and there is no one to shout at for taking the same pairs of shoes as mine or taking the same pairs of cloths as mine.

Then I sat down, and I thought about this, and I said, life is just for a season. The time you get to enjoy everything at your fingertips and the time you get to work hard for whatever you want to earn, and also the time you get to be low and think before you talk. Now to me, Christmas is not really a priority like when I was still young.

Although, Christmas is a good thing that happens to everyone because it's a time to get together after a long time. We have fun with our friends and family and merry together, laugh together and share gift and joy with everyone. Not just that, Christmas to me is when I was young was for me to get gifts and eat to the fullest but now, my thinking changes because I knew it was more than just eating and gift because you will hardly see someone to gift you when you are older, but instead you see younger ones looking up to you.

Christmas is always fun and I love to do and participate in it because it's just once in a year, and it has its significance which we must always show as humans. Both Christmas and new year celebration is something good and also both children and adults love to do Christmas. We should always make this day count and do things that we would always remember for good as a memory.
