¡Hola chicos! Espero estén muy bien. Bienvenidos a la parte número 7 de Viajando por Venezuela. En esta oportunidad encuentro en el Edo Falcón visitando las playas y centros emblemáticos de este estado. Este día iremos a las Salinas de Cumaraguas, el mar rosa de Venezuela y todo un monumento natural.
Hi guys! I hope you are doing well. Welcome to part 7 of Traveling through Venezuela. This time I am in the Edo Falcon visiting the beaches and emblematic centers of this state. This day we will go to the Salinas de Cumaraguas, the pink sea of Venezuela and a natural monument.
Laguna boca de caño es una laguna que debemos pasar para llegar a las Cumaraguas, en esta laguna hay una fauna hermosa y pueden verla detalladamente en este artículo que lo documenta especialmente (https://www.flickr.com/photos/barloventomagico/7721577772/in/photostream/). Yo pude sacar una sola foto de esta laguna donde a lo lejos se pueden ver unos flamencos que habitan allí, es impresionante ver la cantidad de puntos rosados que se ven en la lejanía, algunas veces ellos se encuentran más cerca y se pueden ver mejor, pero otras veces ellos no están allí para ser fotografiados.

El color se lo da un alga llamada dunaliella, un microorganismo llamado halobacterium, y un pequeño camarón llamado artemia, que solo vive en soluciones de alta salinidad estas fueron las palabras de un guía que nos explicaba sobre este curioso lugar...
Nos explicaban que los habitantes de esta zona viven de la sal, literalmente, este es el sustento y tradición de las familias a los alrededores de este lugar. Este en un lugar en donde muchas familias al rededor viven con escasos recursos...
The salt flats of Las Cumaraguas are pink and reddish. The color is given by an algae called dunaliella, a microorganism called halobacterium, and a small shrimp called artemia, which only lives in high salinity solutions. En la entrada de las salinas habían unos niños que al ver que venía un carro salieron corriendo a recibirnos... Mi cuñado Ángel iba manejando y nos daba contexto, nos contaba que estos niños muchas veces venden sal o la cambian por comida... Ellos viven lejos de la ciudad y esto hace que se vean muchas veces atrapados en esta zona sin mucho contacto con la ciudad, ni siquiera sé si en esta zona hayan escuelas para los niños. El caso que les dimos una colaboración y a cambio esta niña que se acercó a hablarnos nos dio esta sal.
At the entrance to the salt flats there were some children who, when they saw a car coming, ran out to greet us.... My brother-in-law Angel was driving and gave us some context, he told us that these children often sell salt or exchange it for food.... They live far from the city and this means that they are often trapped in this area without much contact with the city, I don't even know if there are schools for the children in this area. We gave them a contribution and in exchange this girl who came to talk to us gave us this salt.
Las salinas me tenían maravillada porque me parecían demasiado lindas y me sorprendí al ver la cantidad de montones de sal que habían en este lugar... De hecho mucha de esta sal es enviada a empresas nacionales para hacerle los otros procesos y repartirla en el mercado. Es muy difícil documentar todo y disfrutar el paseo... Cuando me daba cuenta se me olvidaba seguir tomando fotos de lo concentrada que estaba analizando toda la información , menos mal mi novio estaba pendiente ayudándome a recordar que debía documentar para Hive Blog.
I was amazed by the salt mines because I found them too beautiful and I was surprised to see the amount of piles of salt in this place.... In fact much of this salt is sent to national companies to do the other processes and distribute it in the market. It is very difficult to document everything and to enjoy the walk... When I realized that I forgot to keep taking pictures because I was so concentrated in analyzing all the information, luckily my boyfriend was there helping me to remember what I had to document for Hive Blog.
Ahora sí llegamos a las cumaraguas y podemos ver que no todas las aguas son rosadas, pero en su mayoría lo son... Muchas de las fotos son editadas para que se vea mucho más rosada de lo que es, pero es cierto que es muy rosada esta agua, especialmente cuando está tranquila y no está revuelta. También le saqué fotos a unas que estaban revueltas y podemos ver la diferencia de las fotos editadas.
Now we get to the cumaraguas and we can see that not all the waters are pink, but most of them are.... Many of the photos are edited to make it look much pinker than it is, but it is true that this water is very pink, especially when it is calm and not disturbed. I also took photos of some that were disturbed and we can see the difference in the edited photos.
Aquí hasta la arena es de un color diferente, no sé si se debe a un efecto visual o si realmente lo es, pero podemos darnos cuenta que este día había mucho viento y esto agitaba el agua, por tanto se mezclaba la arena con el agua y el color era más un marrón rojiso que rosado.
Here even the sand is a different color, I do not know if it is due to a visual effect or if it really is, but we can realize that this day there was a lot of wind and this agitated the water, so the sand was mixed with the water and the color was more a reddish brown than pink.
Algo que me pareció curioso es que hay muchos caminos para atravesar las Cumaraguas y todos son idénticos o bueno, si no prestas mucha atención te pierdes fácil, con perder me refiero a que si quieres volver por el mismo camino tienes que prestar bastante atención... Yo conseguí identificar un poco el camino por la espuma que se hace en los bordes y por unas aves que estaban cerca.
Something that I found curious is that there are many paths to cross the Cumaraguas and all are identical or well, if you do not pay much attention you get lost easily, I mean that if you want to return the same way you have to pay close attention .... I managed to identify the path a little by the foam that is made on the edges and by some birds that were nearby.

Estas fotos no sé si son editadas o si no llegamos a la parte más rosada porque no teníamos un guía con nosotros, sólo habíamos conversado con uno que estaba dando información en nuestra posada .
These are some photos I got on instagram @edofalcon where he gives us an enlarged view of how the Cumaraguas look like from the heights. These photos I don't know if they are edited or if we didn't get to the pinkest part because we didn't have a guide with us, we had only talked to one who was giving information at our posada .

This photo made me find out that in the salt flats they use to practice windsurfing especially when there are tourist trips that can greatly enhance the experience of traveling to this place.

Para completar este post súper informativo aquí les dejo un documental sobre esta zona tan hermosa hecha por el fotógrafo documentalista Iñaki Zugasti quien visitó por diez años Las Cumaraguas, al norte de la Península de Paraguaná, en el estado Falcón, Venezuela. Que impresionante el contraste de colores y la diferencia de las aguas. Tiene que ser una maravilla tener un dron y volarlo por ahí, esos espacios tan amplios son un encanto cuando se les ve completos.
Increíble lo de las personas que viven por allí tan aisladas, suya cerca de las ciudades a veces es difícil conseguir cosas, ellos deben tener dificultades inimaginables.
