Hidden Tomb History - Monomad
Hello, black and white photography enthusiasts.
My story this time is about the history of a hidden tomb. On one occasion, my students and I made a pilgrimage to the Tomb of Sultanah Nahrasiyah. The Queen was one of the female leaders known for her wisdom and strong leadership in guiding her people. She ruled the Kingdom of Samudera Pasai from 1405 to 1428 AD. During her reign, her people thrived and prospered. At that time, the Kingdom of Samudera Pasai became one of the respected kingdoms in the Nusantara region.
Sultanah Nahrasiyah passed away on September 27, 1428, and was buried near the kingdom. Although the kingdom seems to have disappeared today, Sultanah Nahrasiyah's tomb remains intact and beautiful. This is also acknowledged by Western historians who claim that Sultanah Nahrasiyah's Tomb is one of the most beautiful tombs in Southeast Asia.
My students and I visited to absorb the struggles and stories of the queen. To hear these stories, we met with the tomb keeper, who was very skilled in narrating Sultanah Nahrasiyah's story. The students appeared serious as they listened to the tales. As the younger generation, learning history through visits to historical tombs will ignite their enthusiasm to continue learning.
Here are some photos for you to enjoy, including pictures of the queen's tomb and the students paying their respects at the tomb.
I'm sharing all of these photos for the daily challenge by @monomad, curated by @monochromes. I hope you like them!
