Windy autumnal waves at Seafield harbour in Scotland

Windy autumnal waves at Seafield harbour in Scotland

Hello Hello Hivians

Autumn is well and truly here in Scotland, although we have sun in the day, it comes with wind and a drop in temperature.

The wind of course makes for some wonderful crashing waves to see!

The day really was a beauty and the sun was shining!

So without further ado let's get out there!

We are in the Kingdom of Fife on the East coast of Scotland and starting off at Seafield beach before heading to the harbour and the ruins of the sea wall.

As you can see it was fair windy and the flag was showing its full imagery stating what a wonderful beach this was.

You can see the ruins of the sea wall in the distance, it is approaching high tide so hopefully we will see some waves or breakers crashing against the wall.

We can walk along the trail and we might do that on the way back, but to start with let's get onto that beach.

One thing about grassy sand dunes here is that with all the wind they suffer from erosion, this sign basically telling you that unless jump you ain't getting down to beach from there!

So yes it was barriered off and down to a more suitable access point we went.

Much better and now we can head towards those cracking waves at the wall!

Oh yes it was whipping up nicely. I might walk up top, there is a narrow ledge you can climb up onto behind the wall.

In saying that, I may get wet if I do!

Meantime back to the beach and you can tell the sun was up there, and its rays popped the clouds to brighten up the sky.

The wind turbine had no problems in turning its three blades. I did take lots of short videos, I might pop them onto InLeo shorts later, or make a fuller length video we shall see.

Right then, look at these waves!

I just love this one, it is as if the big one is about to devour everything in its path!

While I was talking those pictures the guy below was doing the same thing.

He came up to me asking if I had caught him getting wet. I had been filming and did catch him coming into shot shaking his boots, but alas I did not capture the wave getting him.

People forget the tide comes in!

Now then remember I said you could on the wall?

This then is the wide angle view from the wall!

There you can see ledge and where to clamber up to. The other side has quite a drop as it is a decent sized wall!

This then was the view from uptop. I didn't walk along it as I was not in the mood to either get wet or blown over! Was not getting my new expensive phone thrown into the sea either!

So the other photographer was using the sewer pipe as his camera tripod base.

I am not going to lie, but I was secretly hoping a rogue wave would soak his feet again, he did seem quite nifty at scooping up his camera so I was sure it would be safe.

I left him be, and went back via the coastal trail.

It was fun watching these two escort us back. The little back pup thought he was the dogs bollocks but when the big Red Setter turned around, the little one came scampering back to us!

Fun times, and then we were at the car park.

Where I took the opportunity to avail myself of the plastic trash I found on the beach.

Don't litter folks, bin it or take it home!

So long Seafield see you soon!

Ohoo what a lively see, waving hard as if it's trying to wash away everything on the way. UwU. If I'm in there all I can do is admire the sea and enjoy the beautiful view - and take a tons of photos, ehehe.

I love the moss, it adds another layer to the view. I'm on the west coast and all we have is grey mud, it's so dull

Oh yes, that is funny I have not thought of that, but yeah grey mud is dull as you say, the moss and lichens do give it a nice touch of colour!

This looks like a really cool area. I wouldn't have guessed that was a sewer pipe. It looked more like a barrier wall to me. We have been getting a lot of wind around here lately. Probably not as much as you get off the ocean though.

Yeah we got some right old hoolies here from the sea indeed! Hope you are missing all this hurricane damage I see.

Oh yeah, we are quite a bit further North. We don't get much impact from the hurricanes besides some different winds and a bit more rain.

Yeah, they usually fizzle out by the time they make it this far inland.

Haha, naughty Eduard!
It sure looks cold, but must be lovely in summer. I love the sound of waves crashing! That one wave looks scary, ready to pull one under!

Actually it is cool in the winter, brought up on the North Sea there is nothing better than a freshair walk on the beach when it is blowing a gale and you can hardly standup. Having had dogs all my life you learnt to get out there come hell or high water Lizzie!

It sounds like the Cape, they have such strong winds at times, that one has to hold onto something or you'll get blown away. Your dogs must act like an anchor, right😅
Enjoy your weekend Ed!

Very cool pictures of a nice day at the beach. Not quite California but what a nice landscape and view! The old sea wall is pretty cool as well, they mast have had a little harbor there once upon a time. There were some nice waves coming in there, no rogue waves to get the fellow wet!
!LOL

Hehe not sure if you had coal mines in California. But this area Seafield was home to Seafield colliery and one of the biggest in the country. What you saw was the remains of the sea wall and dock.

That is cool. California may have at one point but gold was the main thing mined here. Nowadays California doesn't allow almost any mining if it's new. The state is run by ultra liberals who don't want anything that might pollute the state even though it is full of plentiful resources. Los Angeles is still a major are of oil production and was part of what started the city in the first place! lol

The tides is rising already over over there. We are awaiting harmattan probably by next month in my country. When was this wall built?

Around 1890 it was finished, it was a dock and railway as there used to be a huge coal mine there. Seafield colliery back in the day was massive. Ah harmattan just in time for Christmas Dani.

Wow! Thanks for the #brainupdate friend. I guess that's the advantage of having big companies and factories, they help develop an area.
About Christmas, who doesn't love Christmas!!!.

I love strong waves and if I am close and the drops wet my face it is fascinating, the freshness of the air coming from the sea. Excellent photos, that place has given you a lot of inspiration to cheer us up with your posts as well. Thank you my friend @tengolotodo,my regards and nice week to you.🤗😁
