Hello Hello awesome people of the Hive
June has arrived and with it some warmer weather, at least in Scotland over the weekend it was good. Perhaps it was a plan so the Queen could have a cracking Platinum Jubilee.
Blue skies have been spotted three days in a row! Wonders will never cease right!
I was taking out some rubbish last night when I looked up and had a Eureka moment, I blame all the lights, made me go dizzy🤣
I thought how clear the sky was, with no clouds whatsoever, and I could see the remainder of the moon.
Go and get the CAMERA I yelled to myself. This was going to be a wonderful excuse to play with my new toy📸!

Well as I love saying Yes to myself, I granted myself on your behalf, permission to moon you !
This post shows my first attempts at taking pictures of the moon.
I just use my not so steady hand, I have not got a tripod yet.
The results though have just blown my mind away. How crazy is that we can see the moon like this!
My camera that I bought if you don't know and are interested is the Canon Powershot HS70 bridge, it is lightweight and has a ridiculous zoom on it, and I would recommend it to anyone.
I think that photography is now a confirmed hobby for this Silver Blogger!
Talking of Silver, I think the moon has a touch of silver itself, what do you think?
Well I hope that you enjoyed me sharing some of my new hobby with you!
Of course, now I can't wait to do it again with a full moon!
Knowing my luck of course it will be a cloudy night, well 🤞 for a clear sky.

And just this morning, I was talking to Rodrigo about how we only have a few weeks left to get the moon tattoo we promised each other since his school classes are almost over. So was it a coincidence? Maybe 😉

This time you really surprised me, I was expecting a post on the park or something, hehe.
Rorro and I have a pact. I think I wrote about this some time ago. But when he was little he loved the song Fly me to the moon. So much that sometimes he put it on loop in the car and he loved to sing it. So this time nobody is pushing anybody. We agreed a long time ago that the day he left home to study we would both get a tattoo of the moon in the same place. Carlos always rolls his eyes, haha. But the time is coming. There is no design yet but, we were talking about it this morning because Rorro says we can get one of a cat meowing at the moon, hehe.
So maybe you have a 🔮 too, jeje

Nice shot there, seems you were on a space ship when taking the pics. In my part of the world, it's dam hot, we're praying for rain right now. The heat should have stopped mid or 3rd week of May. But don't know why it's still here. We'll that's nature, only God can tell.
The weather has gotten messed up everywhere and I hope that you got some rain by now!

Wait till you get a tripod on it. You will be blown away even more. These are great though!

Get one with a built in blanket, it's cold out when you taking the moon shots!

5 years ago I had the HS50 Bridge, the zoom on that was incredible, and it'll be even better on your upgraded one. I loved that camera it did everything, from macro to landscapes and from birds all the way to the moon! ;-)
Photography is a really rewarding hobby if you are prepared to put a bit of effort in, and I look forward to seeing what you capture next time!
Thanks Dan, yes it really is a remarkable camera, and so lightweight you can take it anywhere. As you say, it can do it all, I just need to practice it and explore all the features, I love the bird shots I get already.

Very nice! That Powershot is impressive. I might have to look into it as I do dread lugging around the larger lenses.
oh you should have a look around, you would not believe how lightweight it is, and I think the zoom is pretty damn impressive for something so small and easy to carry around!

It made me think of a documentary film I recently watched, called Shoot The Moon, by Crrow777Radio - he has podcasted a LOT about documenting the moon, and there is a wide movement of folks who are now regularly taking photos and videos of it... I though you might be interested! His site is here... I linked to the free episode; you can look up moon or lunar or shoot the moon and find the appropriate episodes :-)

We on had cloudy skies here in the south east of England, so no chance of any mooning, well not the type you're talking about 😂.
Great photos of the moon. I'm starting to think that I need to invest in a new camera. My phone is okay, but it would be nice to have more options.
Yes I can do amazing macro shots with my phone, but really if you want to do some more photography then you need a camera.
