Long nights are when it's time to please the ladies

The nights are fair drawing in now up here in the Northern half of the Northern hemisphere!

Gone are the summer long nights when it is still light at 10pm and beyond.

image.png

That was last night's full moon and I can safely say that it was dark outside, pitch black even!

I do like an after-dinner walk, but unfortunately you have to take a different route in the winter than you do in the summer.

In the summer we can walk upto and around the park and perhaps see some of my wee feathered friends.

image.png

Or we can pop down to the beach and see who is having a wee swim in the sea, this was a gorgeous wee black pup.

Are you like me and call all dogs wee pups, no matter what is their age and/or size?

image.png

Nope, at nights it means wrapping up in warm clothing and sticking close to the street lights (not sure about where you are, but here far too many bloody dog owners do not pick up after their dog) and to be brutally honest, going out 🚶 less often 🤣

image.png

So on Friday afternoon Mrs T and I went down to the High Street to do a bit of shopping and this could well have ended up being a #marketfriday post for @dswigle but I am not sure if you can post there on a day other than Friday?

Instead it is going to be a hodgepodge of a post, with a wee bit of this and a wee bit of that!

image.png

It was to one of our favourite charity shops that we visited first and do you see anything there @coquicoin ?

Need another look, perhaps @fionasfavourites will come and look too!

image.png

Yes it is wool or yarn for the long awaited hats that I promised you!

I remembered that this particular charity shop sold wool, and I would rather that money goes to charity than to some random multinational corporation.

It turns out that the selling of this brand of wool is now a permanent feature, and I shall be coming back if the hats work out as I think they will!

So I got me some blue and purple shades of wool and then the pro got some other blends/makes from a specialist shop that we visited.

image.png

It was a quick shopping trip which made for a pleasant day,as every shop we went to seemed to have what we wanted without having to traipse around half a dozen stores looking for what we want!

image.png

All this shopping though meant that it was time for a Friday treat before going back home to look at the yarn haul

image.png

They look cool don't they. The colours are really bright and the wool is so soft, I am well chuffed with them.

image.png

I think blue will look good on you @coquicoin and of course on my mini nephew Ageese, although we will have to retake some of his head measurements as I am sure that he has grown by now!

image.png

How about that @fionasfavourites is that shade suitable for you?

Now then, if you know any knitters and crocheters then you might have heard them talking about their projects and WIPs (work in progress) and all that hoohaa, and I have my favourite project bag!

image.png

It is of a German ship the Gorch Fock I and we bought when we went on a tour of it in Stralsund years ago.

image.png

Opening the bag and pulling the contents, I forget the last project I made had blue and yellows for scarf for someone.

You can see the orange loom that I will be using. It is not knitting or crochet but simple loom knitting and you can see the pick and counter inside the ring of the loom.

silver_divider_small.png

There we have it, I am getting ready to fulfil my promise to these ladies during my evenings 😁

PS Don't forget .... We just posted the new #BoM

If you would like to participate then check out the rules at Blog of the Month - New theme for Tuesday, 18 October and in the meantime have a fantastic day.

For days, I was waiting for this post on yarn shopping, Super Ed. I thought you would never do it. I love that royal blue yarn 🌀🌀💙
Your nephew has grown up a bit, hehe. By the way, I love your WIP knitting bag. I have several of those. I can't fit all my unfinished projects in one 😂

I can't fit all my unfinished projects in one 😂

There are loads of them around the house. Some with animal pieces, some dolls clothes, some blankets jeje Mrs T has loads so I can imagine what yours are like!
Yes the day is getting closer I start loom knitting again. It takes me a while to remember and keep the tightness the same!
The Royal Blue really is a stunning shade of blue, I thought you would like it Super Eli 🌀💙🌀

It might take you a while to do the first one but you'll soon get the hang of it again.
And about the blue, I just can say...

Anyhow, enjoy your projects Tito Ed!

You know how giving I am?? I wouldn't give you the boot! It is almost Friday again! Nice moon shot, it was a pretty spectacular one! I have never understood dog owners that don't clean up after their dogs. My neighborhood is good, normally. It is such a small act, isn't it? Wee pups? Sure. Kidding. Not on your life. I would look like a rabbit talking if I used those words. Everyone would know it is not really me. And yet, I am addicted to Lass, Wee ones, and all sorts of tempting Scottish banter.

Don't you love those charity shops? I know I do! What a great deal for you and look how many different wools they have. The colors are happy and will make perfect hats! Oh, dinner is diving! Yummy! I didn't eat thing yet! I hope we get to see the finished product once it is done! Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through and realize how much we have all tried to include things in our world that may be unique to the area. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for them. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the week has found you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  4. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Thank you Denise, I almost completely forget the moon, but luckily Alexa reminded me and for once we had a clear sky, which is why I think that she did remind me!
Ah Friday it does seem to roll around all too often nowadays.
ah yes the dog owners, yes you can't blame the dog, enough of them.
The wool is great and I need to get starting soon as who know how long it will take to ship to Venezuela!

Oh, jeden Tag lern' ich hier was neues.

Interessant. Danke für den Hinweis :-)

Nice knitting haul. My mother used to knit constantly, and she used to have so many balls of wool in the house that it was unbelievable. I swear she could have knitted a tank !

I rarely see a guy who's into knitting. At least where I live.
Btw, I think I tried knitting back at high school as a some sort of a project or an activity. 😊

It's wool socks for me! Nothing worse than cold feet. Nothing.

I like the cold, and the winter and, dare I say it, snow. Maybe it's the Canadian in me coming out (oot?). I miss the snow. Autumn is my favourite, but winter comes in a close second.

Winter is made possible with wool socks.

hehe I love how you guys say oot and aboot!
You are right though, feet like ice blocks is a saying here and if your feet are that cold then damn you are in trouble.
I like the snow as it is rare we have it, the melting and freezing is what gets me though.
Wool socks now we are talking as a must for venturing out oot in the snow!
