Cracking X Episode 4 A losing battle ~ Is it worth it?
Hello Hello Hivians and Threaders and Xters!
It is Thursday and that means that it is time for one of my designated X reports.
X as in what was formerly known as Twitter.
I am a Rangers fan, our motto is NO SURRENDER ...
However all I can say to you is thank fluff we are Web3 devotees!
If we piss people off we might get downvoted but we will not lose our accounts!
A very good friend of mine who has been using Twitter for years has just lost her account. She is into crypto and won a meme competition two weeks in a row run by a blockchain. A fellow competitor and user of X reported her account, and she has been informed she has violated the T & C's of X, they won't say what, only that she was reported by a user!
I mean seriously an account she has had for over 10 years gone in the blink of an eye!
Here if someone is a sore loser then you might get hit in the wallet, but the bottom line is that you still keep your account!
On Web2 if someone takes a dislike to you or gets jealous then bam you are history, your account is not your account and it is bye bye!
I am part of Rangers twitter and have been for years. Every week I will see people with a new account as their last one was banned because they are reported!
Fluff Web2 say no more, you want your own account then get on Web3!
I can still see a concerted effort from so many people getting the Hive name known on X and other web2 media. A big pat on your back if you are one of those people.
IT IS WORKING .... We are onboarding influencers and more users, that is a fluffing fact.
You would have perhaps guessed by the title that this post is about X (formerly Twitter).
This is the fourth episode that I have been showing my stats. I shall be reporting my findings and progress.

My goals for X are twofold:
1 Become monetized
2 Spread the Hive word and onboard users
Following 1st ep 1671 2nd ep 1667 3rd ep 1716 this ep 1721
Followers 1st ep 2687 2nd ep 2715 3rd ep 2740 this ep 2747
So I have been slowly removing users I have been following that either don't engage or we are not aligned.
My followers count increased by 7, actually it was more, because X are still suspending accounts left right and centre, and those get removed from your following.
To become monetized you need to do these 3 things:
✔️ Subscribe to Premium or Verified Organizations
❌ Have at least 5M impressions on your posts within the last 3 months
✔️ 500 followers
I have the easy bits sorted lol!
My analytics for the last 7 days
and the week before that...
You can see all the red lol Yes my analytics are way way down and this has a knock on effect from a month ago.

Let's have a look at my impressions...
Note it says 5M impressions on your posts within the last 3 months
My last three months' chart for impressions....
So I have 2.2 million (last week was 1.9 million) impressions for the last three months. Oh fluff me, I am well short lol
My reach has gone, the impressions from my comments have gone,
I have had my account limited in someway, I don't know how or what but NO Surrender ....
I am determined to persevere... FOR THE MOMENT
I had a purple patch where I could comment and get thousands of impressions, that is keeping my totals up. But I am running out of weeks if I want to monetised.
Chasing impressions on X is not my idea of fun, it is time consuming and taking me away from Hive.
Finding a balance between X Hive and RL is quite complex at the moment.
In the meantime I shall be aiming to follow some X strategies we have devised with some other members of INLEO. Can people work as a team? We shall find out!
But if anyone wants to Team up to try and crack X please do let me know!

I've never really tried to get into X. I use it occasionally, but not too much. What I do know is that students are using it a lot to help get recruited by universities for sports. It makes me wonder how much that is going to keep happening with all the changes they are making to it. I feel like there could be a niche for that kind of thing out there.
I have used it for years for following the gossip on my team Rangers. So your comment about students sports and recruitment by universities makes sense to me!
You are doing way better, Tito Ed. Give it a bit more time and you will smash that 5M impressions.
Actually nope, my initial bump of 1.4million impressions in 3 weeks will be vanishing soon, it is a rolling 3 months. Well as long as the bill is paid I will continue pushing it to use to promote HIVE
Oh, that's true though. Sucks when you will just lose them but I guess it's how things work.
Monetizing X seems pretty tiresome plus the account insecurity.....you are doing great by the way.

Exactly, nobody can ever take away your Hive account! It really is yours.
Its a bit difficult to stay consistent with all metric but you are doing good on X.
