Big Swan Little Swan Contest Reflection Hunting

Hello Hello shadow hunters and all sunny people of the Hive

When I was at our local Beveridge Park taking some pictures on Tuesday for my A very feathery grassy tail post for @nelinoeva and the Feathered Friends community, I of course took the opportunity to feed the swans!

Can you see them?

No?

Ah well that is because we are standing on the concrete deck. Right so let me pan the camera round a little bit.

Do you see them now? I can see plenty of the tree reflections in the water, and the sky and oh yes the first picture had cloud reflections!

I better feed them, after all there is no point bringing food and not feeding the swans now is there?

Okay, let's call them in and over to me and their yummy food!

Oh my, look how big this years cygnets have got already!

They are fluffing massive, aren't they!!!

Okay so they are not feathered swans but rather pedalo boats. You can hire them, now that COVID is over here, the pond is back to being a boating pond!

However we have a young pair of mute swans who did breed this year.

These are not the cygnets...

I thought they would make for a fun entry in the Reflections hunter contest.

Of course just like with the Shadows Hunters completion and the Show Me a Photo competition I spend more time choosing my entry picture as I do writing the whole fluffing post!

Okay so not quite true, but it does feel like it!

So the picture above is the one that I will use as the official entry picture...

They seem to tie the boats up on the wee island during night. This was taken about 8in the morning, so they had not been brought over for the days paid hire.

Here we go Neli, sorry for tagging you but here are the little swans in the foreground with the Big Swans in the background.

I shall make a post next week in FF about the swan family.

They really are cute, does not matter if they are babies or adults they are cute!

hehe yes I remember when I saw them through the trees I was thinking they are massive then saw they were boats!

I was already planning to move over to your neighbourhood if these were real cause you can't keep those beauties to yourself so I feel a little better knowing they aren't. Still mighty lovely though.

I wonder though how the actual swans feel when they head towards them. Must be a sight. Lol

I never seen anyone in the swan boats, I always got to the park early in the morning, so not sure what the real swans will think. The babies will just follow the parents at the moment.

That is so nice that you both have both alive and man-made swans at the same place and the same photos.

Yeah it is fun, the alive swans don't seem to mind them!

I will show more of the living ones next week. These two are two from last year but all grown up, the male has a much thicker neck!

I have yet to see anyone on the boats, so I don't actually know what the real swans think of the boat swans lol.

You use your feet, and pedal ... that is why they are called a Pedalo boat

Naughty! I nearly slapped my keyboard. Non feathered swans?! The cheek of it. And here I'm reading in great anticipation of those regal beauties. I'm so relieved you sneaked in a shot of real swans. So beautiful

I love the photos of the swans and also the allegorical boats. I would love to have swans here in the lagoons, hahaha, just my imagination.
