WHY I FELL IN LOVE WITH WRITING || HOW MY WRITING JOURNEY STARTED!
Writing for me started as a way of making an income; I never imagined myself writing to earn a living. When I heard, I could make cool cash from writing. My ear stood, and I got interested right away.
It all started in 2020 during the lockdown and ASUU strike when it seemed like the world was working against me.
I don't know if that was how other students felt then, but that was my experience.
I felt useless not being able to care for my needs without my parents' assistance.
It broke my heart, and I was left numb at every conversation! I had to beg my mum for money before I could get data to come online.
I never knew I was leaving a lot of money on the table by just coming online and not earning from it.
To make matters worse, Mtn (network service provider) is very good at using a pipe to suck away data. Very painful!
It was during my thirst to make money that I stumbled on a copywriting course on WhatsApp.
I was amazed when I first heard that I could make money by writing; at first, I was like, “what will I be writing?” stating that I'm not an art student, and I won't function well in that aspect.
So I thought! Finally, I decided to register and satisfy my hunger.
Was it easy to raise the registration fee?
No! I had to borrow it, seeing its possibilities for my current problem at that time.
That was how I started falling in love.
Flashing back to my secondary school days, I knew I loved writing—notes, maybe because of my fine handwriting; I couldn't say, but I could remember that I would help my classmates that couldn't update their notes, write them, and get paid.
Funny enough, I had a lot of customers back then. My siblings would also constantly beg me to help them write their notes.
“You know your handwriting is fine, Nah,” my younger brother would always say. It was interesting, fun, and fulfilling for me at that time.
Talk about reading novels, oh no! I read many of them then; even my essay writing did not carry last. Well, that was what I termed 'writing' during those times.
Back to the present!
The love potion that writing gave me to drink wasn't just to use it in making money alone now.
Its love has clouded my heart, and I call it my best friend now. It frees me to express my thoughts on paper or my phone.
I love writing because it makes me pour out my mind without condemning me. It might choose to betray me when writer's block comes visiting, but we get on back together on the arrival of inspiration and motivation.
Writing has been my love when it chooses to be a voice for me in places I won't have imagined myself speaking.
Through my writing, I've passed messages to people I know I would be shy to talk to in real life. That's part of the energy I received from writing.
It has served as my messenger that conveys my thoughts, messages, reasoning, and emotions to the outside world.
Tell me why I won't choose this love of my life over and over again.
Through writing, I've been able to take care of my responsibility, afford some personal stuff I wanted, the kind of meal I wished for, and the kind of life I wanted (even though it's still in progress). It will take me there.
My love for writing will continue to grow in my heart as long as it doesn't betray me and vice versa.
That's how my writing journey begins, and I'm not ready to stop writing anytime soon, though.
Now over to you, If you were me, would you stop loving the person writing that can give you what you've always wanted?
Also, how did your writing journey start? I'll would love to read from you in the comment section.
Thank you for taking out time to read my blog😘
Chasing your passions should never be given up, especially when they are fulfilling! I'm finding writing is also a growing love as I expand and explore Hive. Being able to communicate and interact with other users in an engaging manner is brilliant.
My journey into writing started soon after my journey into crypto, most projects were developers, making code, not writers/community builders. I found a love in building communities for these small projects and pursued the community management aspect, with this naturally comes a lot of writing, from blogging to updates and general communication with users and developers. So, here we are, on Hive, pursuing my love, of writing, and sloths!
It's great you are able to pursue your love and make earnings from it. I look forward to more of your inspiring content!
Great! Writing comes naturally to some people, while to others, it's transitioning from one phase to another just as you start developing code and community into writing, probably to explain more points or to educate people.
Writing is a powerful skill everybody needs to back up their profession or business.
For instance, if a brand or business owner can acquire good writing skills to level/pitch their business to the audience, it will place them over their competitors.
I also know that hive has helped to bring out the writing talent in many people, just as I always say that anybody can write; though you might not have discovered it yet, it's in you.
I never could write as well until I discovered it with a push.
Thank you for your contribution, @slothlydoesit.
