Tranquil Escape
After a long tiring week of preparing to go back to school as the summer holiday is fully over and the fall semester is herethere was a slight shift in the calendar hence the late resumption, I decided to go find solace in nature to reboot and prepare myself mentally for the new academic journey. "It's the weekend", I said to myself so why not?
I'm done being a sophomore and I'm elated to start a new year. Sophomore year was more of stress than fun and I'm wishing that this year doesn't get any worse. By next year,if there are no changes in the calendar I should be thinking of congratulating myself for a good job well done, celebrating with family and friends and planning for the next stage of my life as I'd be graduating from the University.
The perfect place to go in my city for this walk in nature is the beautiful "Ibom Icon" as it's called. It's a resort that provides recreation and accommodations for vacationers.
I didn't go there to spend more than a few hours so there was no need to book a room in their hotel. My aim was to sit in the field, under a tree, walk around and breathe the fresh air in the atmosphere.
As I wandered into the lush greenery of this resort, I felt a sense of serenity wash over me. The gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze became my soundtrack of positivity, replacing the worries of how the new session would be.
I wandered deeper into the woods, and my footsteps seemed to echo as I stepped on dry leaves, with the excitement of a new academic year ahead. The vibrant colors of the trees and fallen leaves painted a picturesque scene, reminding me that change was indeed in the air.
I found a peaceful spot to sit and contemplate as memories of past semesters flooded my mind. The camaraderie with friends, late-night study sessions, running to lecture halls early in the morning, and the thrill of learning new things all converged into a nostalgic symphony. It was as if the trees themselves whispered tales of my academic journey so far.
The tweeting birds above seemed to join in the conversation, as if sharing their wisdom. I couldn't help but smile, thinking of the challenges and triumphs that lay ahead.
This moment of solitude in nature was like a bridge between my past and future, a place where I could recharge and embrace the coming adventures.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the landscape, I knew that this walk in nature had done its magic. It had filled me with the hope and resilience I needed for the upcoming year.
And as I left the place, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the beauty of nature and the promise of new beginnings that the fall semester holds.
images are mine.
What are you studying?
Is it 3 years?
Or i did the Maths wrong...
It's four years but according to my school's calendar, I should be done next year if there's no strike.
