PEPPERMINT (2018)

So I've seen two movies this year which featured real badbitches that had me sitting on edge and rooting solely for them and of course at the end of it all, I am never disappointed.

We'll all agree that it's very painful for one to lose a child, not just losing the child, losing the child on the child's birthday. I mean that sucks and can leave the parent in pain till they die.

It's the weekend so I said to myself, why not see a movie and chill after a hectic week at school? I got on Twitter, sorry "X"^{this name sucks} and looked out for some movie recommendations from people then boom! I saw one which really got my attention because it had a woman on the poster so I thought why not watch a woman win a fight against tough men? Hehe. I love a badbitch who goes to a gunfight with a gun and a knife.

The movie's name is Peppermint. I wasn't actually attracted by the title but the woman in the poster, Jennifer Garner. This movie was directed by Pierre Morel, stars Jennifer Garner and some others who I'm not so familiar with.

Plot:

Peppermint, is an American thriller film, released in September 2018. It has a straight up plot and only does a flashback once to give insight to the viewers on why Riley North choosed to tread the path of being a mind-blowing assassin.^{I really admire her strength} She lost her daughter and husband on the same day which happened to be her daughter's birthday. They were out to celebrate with their child after her friends disappointed her and couldn't show up at her house for her party.

To cheer the child up, Riley and her husband, North, took their daughter to the Christmas park to celebrate with her so she didn't feel lonely and sad. Before then, her father North, had a mission he was to carry out with his friend to rip a drug lord but because of his little girl's birthday, he called off the deal but the lord had already found out about their plan to rip him and had sent his boys out to put the man in a box which they not only put the man alone but also his daughter. They missed their shot at Riley though she was injured and later taken to the hospital.

When she had her chance to escape the hands of the police, she took it and disappeared but in her disappearance, she went through different measures to get strength to get justice which the corrupt system couldn't give. The culprits actually didn't see her coming as she gave them five years to prepare while she prepared as well but they were caught unfresh and murdered in their numbers. I mean, everyone who was involved in the death of her husband and daughter, got served the food they used their hands to cook. She actually added some spice to it before serving and I love that for her.

My Rating:

I'd give them a ten because why not? The cinematography is superb. Clear visuals, an incredible setting, characters who fit their roles perfectly and of course the little humor in the movie makes it a fun watch.

So, I heard that there'd be a sequel in 2024, you should look out for it as much as I will. It's gonna be a blast as I guess another drug lord will be up to take over from the almighty drug lord, Garcia, who Riley single handedly took down and escaped again despite having guns pointed at her.
