Magic Happens When You Don't Give Up || LOH #156

What makes you hold onto hope? Enlighten us on something you do to create a safe, positive space around yourself, to boost the belief or conviction to always look for the cloud with a silver lining, even if it means starting again?

"A success story isn't told overnight". This is the phrase that puts me back on track each time it feels like I'm giving up. Life has fed me many lemons but that phrase aforementioned has helped me push through despite the shock in my teeth.

When I'm at my lowest, I mostly listen to inspiring trap-songs because it helps me shake off the negativity. Most of the time I go to Facebook and scroll. I call it hopequesting even though many relate to the act of scrolling through Facebook as doom-scrolling. I made sure that my feed was filled with beautiful things and beautiful people. I mean people whose art work, wacky unique sleeves and light can make me grab onto hope again.

Holding onto hope when things are pretty rough gets very difficult but the fact that I still wake up the next morning makes me believe that there's something ahead for me. I feel I wouldn't wake up if my time is over but waking up to the sun up in the sky, or maybe to hear drum rolls of rain drops on my roof are valid reasons to keep holding on.

I've been in many situations where I had to start all over. I was working on an important school project. My very best was needed. Each time I submitted my draft to my supervisor, he condemned it and I felt I was a complete failure and would never get it done. I was at the verge of making a rash decision to drop out but one day, I was listening to one of Juice World's songs that YouTube recommended, and that was it. I wrote my heart out on sheets that night and the next day even though I developed aches, the comment I got made me smile.

What I do to create a safe space despite challenges are;

Listening to music.

Hopequesting on Facebook by reading other people's success stories.

Surfing Pinterest for positive quotes that are spirit lifting.

I can't leave out taking a walk. Taking a walk in nature is one of the ways I create a safe positive space around myself. It evokes a sense of tranquility and connection with the natural world as the fresh air fills my lungs, while the rustling of leaves, chirping of birds, and the scent of earth create a soothing ambiance. Stepping along the path, I feel an intense sense of peace, wonder, and a temporary escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

One thing holding onto hope has taught me is that, magic happens when one doesn't give up no matter how much they want to. The universe can't stand and always falls head over heels in love with a stubborn, determined and a hopeful soul.
