After Everything

Sometimes, to get a hold of a better future filled with smiles and no regrets, one needs to tackle the past and not sweep it under the carpet, pretending it never happened.

It sucks now that I think about it that I skipped school just to cry with strangers for about a few minutes. It's a few minutes because my eyes only got wet in the later part of watching this film. Don't get it twisted, from the beginning of this film, the emotions seep in especially if familiar with the journey of Hardin and Tessa's love story, but it's not as intense, in my opinion, as in the last few minutes that wraps up this beautiful piece of art featuring Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Josephine Langford.

The first of these two I watched some years back was ’Through My Window’ and today after seeing this one, I want to believe that it's going to be the last of them because after all there's now a happy ending.

For a change, I decided to loosen the rope that tied me to animations and I'm grateful that immediately I checked Movie box, my fyp, was almost about films that had Fiennes Tiffin in it.

I love Hardin; ^{(I'll just use the name we're all familiar with)}, from the way he talks to the way he walks and even down to his breath. But even when I love a stranger, who happens to be a celebrity that much, I am not one to really keep up with the movies they're featured in but when I get to watch them, I display all the emotions I'd display if I eventually get to meet them.

After Everything is a film that has inspired me. It's one that I think really defines what a good apology looks like and one that defines love in a way that resonates with me. Hardin in this one, is all about writing a new story but this time, on a clean slate. He tackles his mistakes and tries to come out of the shadows that suppressed him just so he could get back with the love of his life Tess. He had opportunities to make love to different women while he and Tess were apart but his undying love for her always prevailed. This single act of his whenever it came up, got my eyes glassy.

Even while he was on a mission to tender his sincere apology to Natalie, the girl whose sex tape he kinda leaked to the world, he was given an opportunity to get down with her, again, but he turned it down because he wasn't over Tess and she meant the world to him. They were broken up for 24 months but Hardin never got over her nor did he think of giving up. I know this thing called “love” is different with every individual but I think we could always try as long as there's a solid reason to keep trying.b

I've never been more proud of a celebrity crush the way I am of Hardin. He literally nailed his role in this film and its sequels, even though he kept pulling different strings, I loved him regardless and this particular film helped quadruple my love for him making me wish it was me instead of Tess. ^{don't gimme that smug look. I know I don't stand a chance.}

Anyway, I wasn't in the perfect headspace for spoilers so I'd advise you go see this one. It's lovely and has the most beautiful soundtracks and lovely scenery plus Hardin is just a beautiful soul to obsess over so yeah, you definitely gonna love this one and make sure you come back thanking me for the perfect recommendation. Also, it comes in handy for a movie night with the perfect half. 😉

PS: directed and screen played by Castille Landon. He deserves every accolade he must have gotten for this one. Love him for that.
