Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri --- an interesting detective anime :)

When it comes to anime or manga, I'm good with any genre... well, depending on my mood. Sometime last month, I decided to watch a mystery detective type of anime that has been on my to-watch list for quite a while already... and it's called "Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri" or Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions in English.

The story revolves around Kamonohashi Ron (RON) and Isshiki Totomaru (TOTO).

Ron, who once was considered the best student in the super elite detective training academy BLUE, is now a recluse. This part of his life started when he was expelled from the academy five years prior.

He was somehow involved in a murder case while he was still studying at the academy, and because of that, he was forbidden from ever involving himself in any detective-related work.

However, Ron's reclusive life came to an end upon meeting Toto. He's a police detective who suddenly appeared in Ron's life. Well, he was advised by a senior detective to seek Ron's help in solving a case that has remained unsolved for months.

Ron reluctantly agreed to help him. Not only was he forbidden from doing detective work by the academy, but the culprits involved in his works end up losing their lives.

But for the first time, the culprit involved in a case Ron handled didn't die because Toto saved him. Ron found hope and decided to assist Toto in his job... and their tandem was born.

However, there's still a problem with Ron doing detective job... and other mystery involving his identity. Let's find out more by watching. ^^ Anyway, here's a trailer of the anime below.

Welp, the trailer doesn't say much... but I found the anime interesting. Ron is quite eccentric, but has an amazing deduction skills. He's also really mysterious. He's mysterious not only in the way he does things, but his identity.

I'm actually reading the manga recently since I couldn't stop being curious about him... and oh, the second season would be released starting next month, so it's something to look forward to.

One thing though, Toto... xD
I like Toto, but he can be frustrating at times. He literally knows that something is going to happen, but he's just so stupid at times. (Sorry Toto fans!) Well, it balances out well with Ron, so it's ok. hahaha

The mysteries are quite amusing, though. There are times when they're solving trivial cases which ends up being connected into a much bigger one.

Apart from the two main characters, there are also a bunch of other interesting characters whose lives would intertwine with them. Will they be good or bad? I don't know exactly, but we'll see.

All in all, I enjoyed the series... guess that's why I decided to check the manga. Despite that though, I'm still not that much of a Toto fan, but who knows? There might be some character development along the way. (I hope so...) My frustration when watching Toto reminds me of the time I feel frustrated watching Takemichi from Tokyo Revengers...

Still, I can't stop watching the series despite having such a feeling for a single character... I'm all in for Ron and his connection with both Sherlock and Moriarty. Ooops~

If you're into mystery and detective type of stories, then this one is for you. :) Thanks for reading and see you around! (^^,)/

Good ♥️.
I dropped it after watching few episodes (when it was ongoing). But after reading your post, I'm thinking about watching it completely.

Nice to know that... it wouldn't hurt to continue watching the series... especially that season 2 is around the corner. ^^

I also liked this anime, although I haven't seen the manga, but the theme of the mystery, the cases they deal with and the way they develop the characters is interesting, to say the least. It is one of those undervalued works that deserves greater recognition.

Excellent review.

I think it's quite underrated, too... I'd get back to reading the manga soon... I got sidetracked by other stuff atm... hahaha xD

Thanks!

The first thing that strikes me about this anime is the drawing and animation, I loved that style, I think it's quite expressive. I particularly like this kind of genres, so I might give it a chance in time.

And yes, characters like Takemichi can be quite frustrating haha.

Cheers!

That's true... especially the way they drew and animate Ron's eyes... <3

I still finished reading the manga (Tokyo Revengers) despite that... haha xDD

Before reading your review, I didn't know about this series xD
After reading, it caught my attention quite a bit. I haven't watched a detective anime since Death Note. It's been a long time. 😆
I enjoyed reading your blog. Regards n.n
