Bridge Under the Moonlight (painting)
I felt like painting recently especially when I get more free time. It's truly a relaxing thing to do as it helps me get my mind off things. It's such a nice escape!
It also helps me focus on one thing which I find really nice since I often have a lot of things going on my head. hahaha
Last Saturday, I only had to work in the morning. In the afternoon, I watched anime and wrote my blog... Afterwards, I rested. I didn't have anything planned in the evening, so I took my painting materials out from my room and onto the kitchen table.
I prepared the canvas pad that I'm using as well as my paint brushes and acrylic paint. Then I stared at it. Haha I didn't know what to paint, but I have always wanted to try painting a Japanese style bridge just like Monet's.
Of course, his was so detailed with all the lush greenery and water lily. But I was thinking more of a full moon, starless sky kind of vibe, and so I did.
I imagined darkness with just the moonlight looking over it, so I chose these colors for the background. I mostly combined blue and black... And a bit of red for a purplish tone. Then white for the body of water underneath.
I then drew two masses of land as well as the bridge... I painted it white at first because the background is too dark.
I painted a mixture of red, brown and white for the bridge... And made a huge moon above it.
I initially did a yellowish moon, but in the end, a blue moon is majestic. I also painted some grass and tree on each side.
I then added some white highlights because the bright moon was shining brightly over them. I also made a few clouds in the sky, so it won't look very bare... and it was starless because of the clouds. But really, I just wanted the moon to stand out.
After a few more detailing, my painting is finally done! I just had to take the masking tape around it off.
I actually kind of like it... It's dark yet beautiful. It's quite serene to be in such a place.
That's all for this artwork. I hope you guys like it! See you on the next one ..
The clouds and leaves on the trees at night illuminated by the moonlight are very well represented and lovely! It is exactly the kind of bridge often seen in Japanese gardens and shrines. The water surface is also beautiful👏
Thank you so much... would love see one in person someday. :)
Thanks for the support... ^^
This looks very cute! I like how you blended the colors so nicely, it looks very smooth :)
Thanks a lot! Glad you like it. <3
Oh my God,this looks so pretty. You're such an amazing painter, I could never!
If I could escape into paintings everytime, it'd be such a relief leaving the earth once in awhile and then coming back.
I love it! And I'll be anticipating the next!🔥
Thank you very much... I can feel my painting improving, so I'm happy... but still have a long way to go.
You can try escaping! In my case, it's more on the mixing of colors that I enjoy...
Thank you!!! I'll find time to make another one soon. :)
Yes yes and yes! Just now you have someone named me anticipating the next one!;)
