Air Fryer Diaries: I Made an Air Fryer Choco-Coffee Cake for Christmas
Since my family tried to have a lifestyle change for our health, we haven't been eating a lot of sweets as we used to. Before, when we feel like eating cake or anything sweets, we buy from some cake shops. There's a pastry shop nearby our place and their cakes were so delicious. However, it's too sweet and buttery, so we decided to avoid them as much as we can.
It was Christmas a few days back, and we wanted to eat something sweet to celebrate. If it were in the past, we'd just buy a chocolate cake or perhaps yema cake which is one of the specialties of the pastry shop nearby. However, I decided to make my air fryer cake instead. Mama requested for another flavor because of the occasion, so I made the usual banana cake and also a choco-coffee cake. :)
I made one for us to share and another one for Kuya Niño's family. Ate Melda and her family transferred temporarily in her sister's place, so we couldn't share food with them like before. I actually miss their son CJ since he has been like a baby brother to me as well.
Anyway, let me share how I made this choco-coffee cake!
These were the ingredients I prepared. In order to make one cake (as in the photo above), I used the following:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 packets of Milo choco powder (or 6 tbsp of cocoa powder)
- 1/2 packet of nescafe stick (or 1 tsp coffee powder)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp baking powder
- 4 spoons melted butter (in my case, I used canola oil)
- 1/2 cup milk (could be any milk, I just used soymilk)
- 2 eggs
Now, let's start mixing and air frying that cake!
Let's start with the flour...
Then, 2 packets of Milo... or any of your choice...
I added half of this... but when I made it the second time, I added more. haha
Next ingredient to add is the baking powder... :)
I then added 3/4 cup of brown sugar... Well, it's less than 3/4 in my case, so it isn't very sweet and the chocolate powdered drink already has some sugar in it.
Instead of melted butter, I added canola oil.
For an extra flavor and fragrance... (lol) I added a tablespoon of vanilla extract.
Lastly, I placed in 1/2 cup of soymilk, but it could be any kind of milk... and 2 eggs.
Just mix everything together before pouring it into your baking pan. In my case, in my usual foil pan with baking paper inside.
I set the air fryer to 160 degrees Celsius and pre-heated for 3 minutes. After that, I air fried the cake for 30 minutes using the same temperature.
I also added some nuts and raisins on top just like what I do with my banana cake. Also, I made some banana cake and this choco-coffee cake when my aunt and cousin came over after Christmas and they enjoyed it.
I made some last night for them to take home this morning. I miss them already! Anyway, thanks for reading and see you next time!

I have an air fryer but since I'm such an inept cook I never bother to bake a cake. Perhaps I can try your recipe 🤔😆
It's pretty simple, so you'd be able to do it... :D
Have fun!!
