We Did Something (I'm Not Sure If I Really Like It?)

Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!

Something Not So Fantastic!

Well it depends on you as a person right? For me... I like it, but for most it might look like something boring!

We did something different at our shop today and heck I don't even know why. We painted a transmission casing and this is not something special in the motor industry at all!

This might not be true in this case but my grandfather always says this quote! "A coat of paint covers many a sin!" Laughs! See what most people in our trade do is they throw coats of paint over wapped off parts! Then they can claim that it is rebuilt!

Rebuilt my ass!

I'll give myself credit where credit is due! Heck nobody even said they came out nice! Feels like I did all this effort for no reason xD LAUGHS! Nah I'm not crying about it I'm just a tad bit dissapointed xD!

Pretty Neat Isn't It?

Okay so I'd like to believe so! But I am doing this with a LOVE/HATE relationship!

The thing is this.... It looks damn pretty now, it's shiny and all that! BUT as soon as this thing starts getting heat on and off everyday it's not going to be as pretty as it is now...

The paint is going to start flaking off and it'll be a ugly piece of metal! NOW yes nobody will see the paint falling off but personally for me I wont at all request a paint job on the newly rebuilt transmission or whatever the case may be! NEVER!

Not on a CV not on a part, not on a differential! ON NOTHING! It'll cringe my soul to death if I had to crawl underneath my car and see that shit flaking off!

The Other Half!

This one was a little annoying to say the least! It was a real hassle to get everything taped off nicely and cut out nicely as well! That was the hardest part!

Not hard persay but more tedious... The spraying is without a doubt the easiest part of all this! Just add layer upon layer and keep it thin and let it dry then add another layer! We don't want any teardrops on these!

One thing is for sure and that is it wont hide the already done damage to the casing! Oh no this ain't no panel repair shop! The client has to be happy with this or else he can try do it himself!

Problem? No problem!!!

Rounded Out Pretty Nicely!

Now I did say I am not at all a fan of this but I will find some enjoyment in slapping this transmission back together and having it look reallllllll NICE!

What are your thoughts on this and would you prefer your stuff to be painted or left as it is?
Personally I wont choose the paint!
