The Transmission That Use To Confuse.

Now this right here is a Ford Ranger five speed manual transmission and when I first started with this job this use to be a great big fear of mine! Yeahp!

Why would you ask? Well the reason is simple! They tear down real hard and they build up even harder! It's a real slep to build one of these and oh so tedious! You have to heat up the bearings and push the casings over all the while guiding in three shaft and a reverse idler!

Remember you've got to hold both your hands on the casing and guide all those shafts! Certainly a two man job! Without a doubt! Well I mean two men would make it easier than one alone!

The Sketchiest Part!

Now Bossman says this wont fail! Well I doubt it! I really do frikking doubt it!

It has never dissapointed me before but heck it gives me the chills to leave a cluster like this and then bossman leaves them over night like this!

I've seen me walking into the shop with a bunch of gears strewn about the floor! Oh it would be hectic!

Anyways! This is how you push the casing over! Heat up the bearings and while it's clamped up like this you can push over the casing! While guiding all those shafts and holding the selector forks in place!

Well It's So To Speak Done!

It's been somewhat of a job getting it this far ey! Really!

I really have a deep admiration for these things! Like when I build something it has to be as clean as I can get it! This isn't always what bossman has in mind!

For example if I build a transmission I want the table to have nothing on it but the parts of that transmission! Nothing else! NOTHING ELSE! I just can't seem to get bossman up and running with that idea. I just can't get him!

Anyways! It wont be long now before I start my own transmission shop and have a blast with how I want to run the show!

Beauty In Simple Things!

Doesn't this just look absolutely delicious? I mean come on! Even if you're not a car lover this does have to look nice in some way? It has toooooo!

Anyways! That is the best part about this job, no slut wiping things around! Here we do it right the first time around!

New and fresh set of bearings! Along with some replaced gears! Perfectly done everytime!

But before I go, take another long look at the bearing! Looks nice doesn't it?
