I Can't Work Like This?

Well Hello There Hivers!

I'm not going to lie this is a little bit of a frustration and it keeps getting worse and worse!

Let me give some background on this situation!

So the local Ford Dealership in our town, well we have a gentleman's agreement with them, we will help them out of the shit every now and then as long as they can send us a vehicle to fix every now and then and to be honest this worked amazing for the first year or two but since then things have changed a great deal!

This post will be al about that!

The Please Help Us!

Well this is the beautifull vehicle that we need to fix, I won't mind for one myself! I'd rather prefer a Toyota Fortuner but damn the Ford Everest is just so much more on the eye! Especially the new Everest!

Okay but that's besides the point! So we got this vehicle from Ford on Monday yes it's currently Thursday afternoon at the time of writing this. They told us on Monday that they want this vehicle as quickly as possible.

Okay fine this isn't a problem, since they would be supplying the parts and what not.
Now I don't exactly know what went wrong here and if the client is even informed about what the real problem is.

It's all just one big fuckup to be honest!

What's This Shit?

We didn't need to remove the transmission at all, we only need to work on the Valve Body of the transmission. More specifically the computer of it needs to be replaced so they sent us a transmission of which we had to remove the computer and fit it into the vehicle they want fixed.

Laughs, do they even know what they are doing? I mean look at this thing? It's dirty as hell! But that's not the best part!

It doesn't even have a valve body inside it? Nevermind the computer that runs the whole thing.

The computer bolts onto the valve body and then you fit the whole assembly into the transmission.

Okay this wasn't a big problem at first, we phoned them and informed them that we need a plate (We call it a plate in the shops) so they told us okay they will bring us a extra plate.

I'm baffled!

Two Days Later.

Okay, so I was under the impression that this was suppose to be an ASAP situation?
I wonder what's it now? A don't care situation? Must be?

This time they only sent us the plate and I thought at first okay this is going to be easy until I picked the plate up.

_For most this won't look fucked at all, right?

I know the photo is a little blurry, apologies!

It is hard to see I know I tried my best! But notice the two swollen spots on the plate. Well that isn't a good sign at all.

You know what's the scary part? One of the big bosses of Ford brought us the plate and the fact that he doesn't know that the plate is buggered up is enough to stop me from buying another Ford!

So that's take two... Completely fucked. Not just the plate the whole damn situation!

Another Day Later!

I haven't even opened up the transmission and I know that this is also FUCKED!

I removed the cooler and instantly I noticed that the oil is mixed up with water... What are you expecting of me? I can't piss on the thing and have it working like new.

Perhaps I can, maybe they know stuff of me that I don't even know! Laughs!

IMG_20231005_143617.jpg

Honestly, I haven't seen one as bad as this one! I wonder if the motor got damaged? It must have.

See since water filled up the transmission and it has electronic parts inside it, well water and electronics. They don't like to mix, not at all!

To give you some sort of comparison, the oil is supposed to be some see through cherry red colour. Well this looks like caramel or some yucky stuff!

IMG_20231005_144244.jpg

Now coming from me that works on transmissions everyday of my life, this was surprisingly disgusting!

For some odd reason I didn't even want to touch the oil at all!

I just left the transmission like that and told Bossman that this situation is a total totally confusing to me, I can't wrap my head around the fact that we have to change the plate for them in the first place?

I know they do these things themselves because my uncle works at Ford and he has done quite a few of them. Now they are sending us this job and asking us to help but they messing us around more than they think! Everytime I have to stop with what I'm doing and attend to whatever scrap they brought us this time!

IMG_20231005_144247.jpg

Look at that oil my people? And they want me to use this plate? I just told them no, you're not going to waste my time like this I have a shit ton of work and now you want me to test something I know for a fact won't work?

Please man!

The biggest problem I have with this is the fact that they don't send us work anymore since they have new in house policies, well that begs the question to why should we help them at all?

Hey, that's really ugly inside, a mixture of oil and water.

Yeah.... I wonder what happened to the engine of the vehicle since both the transmission and the motor runs on the same cooling...

I think that you solve faults that are difficult for them to solve, but they have learned to correct their mistakes due to the repairs you have made, so the frequency of work sent to them has decreased.

They have learned a great deal from us, on that much you are correct😎

See most mechanics only specialize on motors and only a handful of the actually do gearboxes... So most mechanics don't know what to do when it boils down to a gearbox.
