Well Hello Fellow Car Enthusiasts

You should always leave the best for last they say, well one could say I did that or it was just happenstance, probably more happenstance than anything else though. As the long weekend draws to a close I decided to end it with a bang and visit a car show.

I mean after working on cars the entire long weekend really took it's toll but doing something car related for a change that is my passion and something other than work related felt real good!

That is more than necessary from time to time, otherwise one will get sick to the bones doing anything car related for that matter, you gotta experience the great stuff every now and then.

Let me start off by saying that I actually had to drag both myself and the Betty out of bed, none of us was in the mood when the day finally came, but I wasn't planning on spending the long weekend doing literally nothing else than work!

It was well worth it!

Let's start off with the famous Mercedes. Now I am not entirely a big fan of the popular brand but when we start heading back in time there really isn't anything that I don't find beautifull or interesting. I absolutely love last bit of history at this show and a bit of the more modern type styles available.

What caught my attention on this one wasn't the car it self, it was the way I could stare at the colour that it held combined with the look the car gave, it feels elegant but then again Mercedes are known for just that!

Imagine driving one of these back in the day when the automotive industry really boomed off, when things still had style and pride in them. Everyone still searched for their trade mark look and everything looked different!

Imagine driving something that not every third household drives, the magnificence of the era!

Before I truely kick off this post I wanted to add this little frikkin cool looking ride, in-fact let's squeeze in all of the old style classic cute rides, like the Volkswagen Beetle to the right of it.

This specific vehicle is a Fiat 600 if I'm not mistaken and I might very well be mistaken, we don't have a lot of everything in this country so I can't believe I've ever saw one in person. Their must have been quite a few of them back in the day when it was their prime time!

Now let me tell you I wont mind driving this little thing today still. It would feel like I am drawn back in time.

Dammit I would love it!

Why is it that all of these old style cars have these enamel looks with the paint. Why did they ever stray away from that? Trust me I don't mind the paint jobs on some vehicles produced today and a custom spray job can be even more satisfying but damn the paint job alone gives the impression of a solid and sturdy vehicle.

By far the most coolest van around there was the Hippie van. Although this isn't the original hippie van with the split in the front window but as far as the hype goes this must be the coolest one in town and certainly the one that has the most hippie like paint job, everything was done with the hand.

A job well done is by far a understatement on this little hand painted beauty. I have to add another thing as well, this vehicle isn't particularly new to my eyes I've seen this one around plenty of times in my life. Now that would make you realize that I am not living in a very large town at all and it is one of the larger towns in our country ey.

Oh but the fun with the Volkswagen's didn't end there! I think we are one of the few countries that have the Volkswagen Beetle in a high supply to this day. You still see them driving on the roads as well it's not really a precious antique yet although those restored to their former glory and well taken care of and most are still used for daily driving.

I've seen a few beautifull Beetles still driving around, more than often the same ones since it's rarely the ugly ones that stand out am I right?

Oooohhh let's get to the good stuff, a Ford Escort MK1.. Now this is something that I've wanted for a long time, a build up of-course because of the beautifull body it has. I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of the colour but as it is I will surely take it in a two tone baby blue and white, this build even includes a nice rotary motor.

Now this can be a very nice thing to play with over the weekends.

It always adds a nice touch to it when you add a little detailing into the engine itself. I am liking the blue oil cooler tank behind the radiator! It adds a little break from all the purple, that and the shine.

Okay I know it might sound like I'm not a fan of anything, but once again I'm no fan of BMW, BUT I do still admire them a lot! Especially the racing class of BMW... those fancy M-Series cars, now those I do like. I wont buy myself one and not because I don't like them because I can not afford that car.

I don't even want to know what the price tag on that thing is, but damn are they pretty.

See if I had the money, I'd rather do a build of something like this and have life done with. Who would ever need more than this?

I don't believe I need more, I mean if I had this I'd surely be staring at it on a daily basis, the Toyota Supra has a fully customized engine and tuned as hell. What I fancied the most was that the timing belt cover was see through so one was able to see the two CAM pulleys on the front of the engine.

Funny enough, I actually have a Datsun build myself, problem is I never get around to actually building on it. It's a bit of labor and after work it ain't the best thing to keep working, especially not during the week.

Perhaps one day I'll finish it up and have a nicely build pickup, well small pickup, very small. 😂Now why oh why would I love the old type so much? Damn they just have a unique feeling to it all. Tiny, sophisticated and damn well classic. We have a saying in our country, "bakgat" which I can't really translate into what exactly it means, if you know you know. Well this first Datsun looks "bakgat."

Let's jump back to my hopefully future finished project build. I want it in a nardo grey drop to madness with a nice set of rims on it. and the inside of the bonnet should break away from the original colour like crazy, some thing very busy and confusing like a piece of comic book painted on it.

Wouldn't that look real slick? Come on it might right? Picture it!

About eight months ago there was another car show at the same place, nuts about wheels and they had this green Alfa Romeo at the show, I added it in a post I wrote, I think it was the cover photo of the post too. Well today they had another one at the show, hopefully by the next show they might have two more filling the floor! I should have gotten a photo of the green Alfa aswell, my bad. You can see the green Alfa Romeo in this post.

None the less believe me when I say this one is in a near mint condition, the other one well it's well taken care off but it was still driven for quite sometime. Or perhaps it wasn't even really taken that much care of since everything back in those days were built to outlast a life time!
