The Long Weekend: Embracing every moment and living life to the fullest!
Our long weekend is coming to an end.
A working adult might lead a hectic life. Getting caught up in working long hours during the workweek, finishing chores as soon as you get home, and having weekends that go by quickly is possible.
Our country celebrated two holidays in honor of National Heroes Day and our late president, Ninoy Aquino. So, we are given a long weekend.
We are excited to have some time to unwind and recharge. But instead of celebrating in other expensive places, we decided to go to our family farm and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while having a boodle fight.
Nothing compares to the time we can spend with family and friends. Despite all our challenges and hardships, I am always happy to be with them.
We recently bought shrimp, sea grapes, eggplant, and fish to make our plan work. We create our sauces to infuse ordinary dishes with flavor and excitement.
Verdant's surroundings and clean air greeted us upon arrival at our family farm. It's soothing, and I'm happy with the veggies my father planted.
For me, a place where vegetables abound is a paradise. I've always wanted a large yard to grow veggies and fruit trees.
We are struck by the stunning and revitalizing atmosphere—the verdant field, the water, the veggies, and the ducks playing in the pond—having not had the opportunity to connect and hang out here in a while.
My nieces shot some fantastic photos in the rice field while they were getting ready for the meal.
We organized the boodle fight once the food was ready. That looks good, making us want to eat together on the banana leaves.
We got to talk about our lives while lying in and sitting in our kubo after eating. While we were talking, the refreshing and cool breeze that the rain seemed to be pouring down made us happy.
We are too busy to have time for this relaxation, which we have longed for, as my cousins work and some of us are still in school.
This may seem simple for some, but it's the sensation we desperately want.
We are happy that this long weekend, which we will never forget, allowed us to get back together and enjoy small things like this.
Even with the best intentions, spending quality time with family cannot be accessible when so much is happening. However, spending time with your family improves your work-life balance and strengthens your bonds with the people you care about, just like spending time with friends and taking time for yourself.
We are thankful for this time because we realized we live life to the fullest, savoring each moment.
Our life journey is challenging and fleeting, full of opportunities and challenges. It is a gift to be treasured rather than merely endured. And our little moments will be treasured for the rest of our lives.
We are family, and we make sure that we fully experience life, seizing each moment, making careful choices consistent with our goals and values, and fervently pursuing our passions. And whatever comes our way, we may be separated by chance, but we will still be family; we still are as one.
We realized it is not about reaching perfection or always wanting more when living life to the fullest. It's about living in the moment, enjoying the journey, and learning from the experiences that have shaped who you are.
Again, thank you for another weekend experience. Now, I look forward to another marvelous experience with my family and loved ones in the following weekends of our lives.
