Yarn Art

Yarn Art

Good Morning all have a wonderful day

When I am out on photo walks I am always on the lookout for something new or something different to get photos for a post and sometimes I get lucky and find something and over times no luck.

On a walk I took the other morning, I was heading to an area called Wings Court in the Historic District here in New Bedford to check out if they had any new art on the walls as its an area that they allow artist to spray paint new work.

but when i got to the entrance to the area I found the gates locked which caught me by surprise as other times I have walked there it was never locked.
but it lead me to walk around the area and I came across something I have never noticed before and it lead to this post.

Yarn Art
one one street I saw some pieces of yarn art, which is where a person knits of crochets and applies them to things such as trees or light posts

Here is the first one I saw

I am not sure how long they have bene there but they look to have bene weathered a bit so probably a little while but not to long

I am sure I saw someone do a post with some yarn art recently for some photo challenge but I could not find it and not sure what the challenge was

this one was probably the most colorful one I saw

And not only around the truck of the tree but also extended around some branches

Of course I like this one with the blues

I have seen yarn art online but i think this is the first time I have seen some with my own eyes and of course with my camera so it was a cool find

another fairly colorful one

I wonder if these were all by the same person or by a group

That second one really reminds me of something that my mom would make. I think we used to have several afghans that had a similar pattern. She still knits and crochets quite a bit every week. She always has a stack of this or that she made when I go over to visit.

MY mum was the same with knitting, not so much Crochet but my sister does that

Funny thing I never wear jerseys but at the start of every winter my MUm would knit me one, I had a huge box of them I had only ever worn for five minutes when she gave them to me LOL

Haha, that is pretty funny. I have a bunch of old hats my mom made that I maybe wore once and then never again!

some good examples there ,I thought it was just in the UK where spinsters of the parish had nothing better to do with their time than knit socks for trees.
