Views from on top of the parking garage

In the downtown Historic District of New Bedford MA, there is a Parking Garage on Elm Street and hence called the Elm Street Parkign garage, it has 5 levels and I have visited it maybe 3 times hoping to catch a nice sunrise view fromup there,

But I havent had to much luck with that to be honest one morning I did get some nice splashes of color in the sky but on all three visits I have had more splashes of rain.

Its funny how that happens, do you have a spot when you go to the weather always turns, and mostly for the worse lOL

This particular morning I had parked down at the port and the forecast said the rain which had finished maybe half an hour earlier was done for the day, so I decided to walk up through the historic district.

Well once I was a good distance fromthe port and my car it started pouring down, and I made a quick dash to the parking garage to get out of the rain.

Its wasnt that cold the morning I took these so I didnt mind the rain on me so much but I did not want my camera getting wet.

Funny thing was onnce I go inside the car park the rain stopped, so I went up tot he top to get some shots

And each time I went out into the open car park area the rain would start very soon after, mother nature was teasing me

Funny thing as I was walking back to the port and my car the skies cleared and it was a dry walk back

And that’s all folks

Such exposure results in beautiful stripes on the highway from the headlights of cars. That's cool!

Wow, those are some great views! I guess I never realized your town was quite as large as it is. It's interesting how parking garages seem to draw people for photos. My nieces have a small one down where they live and on social media their are always liking selfies their friends take at the parking garage.

Oh dang, that is huge. Even the bigger cities around where I love don't top 50,000 people I don't think.

I've forgotten just how green the east coast is! Rain is funny that way, it stops and you head out only to be hit by another wave...

That first shot would be even nicer without the lights, but wherever humans abound so do lights. Great shots as always. How's that tooth feeling?

Elevated view with somewhere to go when the rain does arrive a bonus, hopefully weather starting to turn to the milder soon for you.

Very nice shots. I like the light trails. How do you achieve this effect with your camera?

thanks
and the light tails are done by taking long exposures inthe dark and the lights of passing cars leave trails

Sounds fairly straightforward. I thought you had waved a branch over your camera like a shaman. heh
