The Pier at Fort Tabor

The Pier at Fort Tabor

Good morning all have a great day.

For todays post I am in Fort Tabor Park and focusing on the pier

Whenever I visit the Fort for an early morning walk arriving there often in the blue hour before the sun rises, the only other people in the park are fisherman out on this pier, later on as the sun rises more people arrive walking around the park either for exercise or as many do bringing their dogs for a walk here.

Now there is some confusion even among locals here over the actual name of the park, but from what I have read it is Fort Tabor Park and here is something I found online.

Fort Taber District or the Fort at Clark's Point is a historic American Civil War-era military fort on Wharf Road within the former Fort Rodman Military Reservation in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The fort is now part of Fort Taber Park, a 47-acre town park located at Clark's Point. Fort Taber was an earthwork built nearby with city resources and garrisoned 1861-1863 until Fort Rodman was ready for service.

Looking out over the pier from a spot where they have some benches and tables and also an area where one can do a barbeque.

I have not seen anyone using the BBQ stands they have there, but then again I mostly have visited there early morning not a common time for people to be cooking on a BBQ LOl.

and looking back from the other side of the pier there was some nice warm colors as the sun rose that morning.

Beautiful shots as always. We used to use the BBQ stands at parks all the time when I was a kid. My family would take day trips and we would go to a park on one of the great lakes and cook lunch or dinner and then drive home.

Maybe people use the BBQ stands around the afternoon. Anyway, I can imagine how peaceful it can be to be there with only a few people and while watching the fishermen work early in the morning. :) Such a beautiful place for a morning walk.

Nice warm morning photos 👍 Your bbq comments reminded me of pork buns for breakfast from Chinatown in Oakland. Yum.

That blue color that I love, with those golden tones in the background... made me think for a while that I would like to be like that, somehow.
The little lights on the dock, a tenderness.
This is the beauty of the world that many people can't see, and how unfortunate are those who have no eyes for these things and live in total blindness.
I love these pictures. They are inspiring.

Absolutely beautiful sunrise shots at the pier. The warm golden colours just before the sun emerges are stunning. Am sure people picnic and BBQ there at later hours but the early mornings present a great place to walk and take in the cool morning breeze.
Thank you for sharing and enjoy Friday ahead :}

All about the colours. The mush of the blues and the oranges in the sky and the somewhat green hue in the atmosphere.
