Sunset along West beach

Sunset along West beach

Although most of my photo walks are in the morning, I do occasionally get out for an evening or sunset walk, and that's what I will share today a sunset walk along West beach here in New Bedford.

We are fortunate here, that we have nice spots by the water to catch both sunrises and sunsets, and West beach is my Favorite spot for sunset walks

Starting at one end of the beach with some subtle sunset colors.

From this shot it may give the appearance the beach es are deserted but that's not the case, well yes the beaches were free of people for the most part that evening as it was a cool and windy evening, but that wasn't stopping many from parking along the road to enjoy the sunset and many were walking along the footpath beside the beach.

Perhaps well no for sure that's why I prefer early morning walks hardly anyone about in part maybe because I am antisocial, but I like to justify it as I prefer to catch images for the most part without people in shot.

The evening I took this walk it was such interesting skies very moody and dramatic in parts and colorful and warm in other parts. I think this next shot is a good example of that

and further along my walk on the beach

Later on some warm reds came out in the sky, and as you can see I was not the only one taking photos of the sunset

After she finished taking her photos and moved on I moved to this spot for the sunset across the rock wall and water

And this one I almost deleted, not sure how or why I edited this with more blue tones but I kind of love and kind of hate this image LOL

The sunsets are stunning @tattoodjay and I so get it, that you want to be out and about without people around. Especially in your photographs. I do the same hahaha try to avoid them.

Love the soft pink and purples in the second photographs. And the last one is indeed different. It makes you feel small. It almost looks like the sky is pressing down on you. More of a tunnel vision kind of idea.

Have a wonderful Thursday 👋🏻☀️

thanks for your visit

and about people in the photos, its something I try and do to avoid having them in images, but I know probably its something I should sometimes try and do the opposite, have a person or couple in shots can add more to the image

thanks for your feedback, I get what you are saying about the tunnel vision feel with that sky

Have a good day

You are welcome @tattoodjay 😁

Maybe it can add in certain moments to have people in there. It all depends on so many things.
If you do street photography, yes, there should be people in there. But landscape, pretty things… definitely not. 😉

Didn’t know how to describe it properly but you got it.
Thank you kindly 👋🏻 Enjoy yours further.

Yes indeed it depends on the situation as you say

But for beach scenes having someone walking ng on the beach could add in some cases and detract in others I guess

But then again most of my walks are early mornings and I seldom see others so maybe it’s all a mute point lol

It does… many moments and situations in a vast variety of places…

Most people don’t go out that early as you do. But it sure is great to see photographs of walks much later too as you have been posting. I like both 😎 early walks and the later in the day walks.

Thanks
Well not so much later in the day lol
My what I call later walks I normally head out at around 7AM the sun is up but still early for most people lol

Yes, that is still early for most people… they turn around in bed again hahaha 🤣

For me it depends where I live, how early I get up. And what I need to do.
After 5 countries and over 30 moved I did notice there are differences. Especially if the climate is hot, like now in Spain. Summer is already here, although it is still spring. So it is best to do most things in the early morning. Mid days will be to warm again.
I miss the 4 seasons… but after our move later this year. (Things are still delayed) We are in the 4 seasons again, country number 6 and we will have changed continents 😉

I to have moved a lot, have bene to over 60 countries, and moved so many times I have lost track but 30 or more I would say

but since i was in my teens I have been an early riser, generally the latest I sleep is around 4Am so for me 7 isnt early LOL

Good luck on your upcoming move, I do love having four seasons, but winters here are hash so not so keen on them LOL

You know what I mean than 😉
4am is early for me to get up, sometimes that is the time I go to sleep hahaha but I do not sleep much, have some severe insomnia lately. (All women have at certain years) sigh.

Thank you so much @tattoodjay it does have it’s charms too. Real snow and all the activities you can do. But I know there are negative things too. We will have to find out for ourselves.

MY wife also struggles with Insomnia, I am lucky when my head hits the pillow I am out for the count for a few hours, mind you I seldom sleep more than 5 hours a night, gettign older some days I need a mid morning nap, but otherwise I cope fine with that

I think it is an hormonal thing, at least it looks like that with me. Trying out some herbal remedies now as I don’t like taking medicine. The fun things of getting older hahaha
My husband is like that, if he hits a pillow he is out… but can even be out for 9 hours lol 😂 so a bit more sleep he gets than you.

Yes I think your right about it being hormone related and must be so tough to deal with

Until I hit my mid to late 50’s I never slept more than 4 hours anymore than that I felt worse

Now in my 60s I need 5 or 6 hours sleep a day

Changes we all go though… but I look at it positively, one day it will be over hahaha and the hormone will have calmed down. Hopefully more sleep will follow again 😉

Still not a lot of sleep, but as long as you can function “normally” it is ok. I think. Our body does tell what it needs… we just need to listen 😎

I am a great believer is listening to the body I have had people nag me over the years that I should sleep more but honestly when I tried I had less energy

I remember reading a book in my early twenties that said the same some people need more and some need less sleep

Yes… your own body knows best. And if you don’t listen, eventually it makes you listen. I so believe in that.

Everybody is different in many ways, so nobody can tell another person what would be best, as that person is not in the others shoes.

Exactly on all accounts
The only time I sleep any longer is if I am sick

althought I seldom take photos with people in the shot, perhaps I should often they add so much to the image

I rarely delete an image if it's not completely blurred or so. If I don't like one, I just leave it for a while or even for weeks, and then sometimes I see it with completely different eyes.

I love all these photos including the last one, they are all great, and my favourite today is the second image 😍

Very nice photos. That one where the red started to pop in is pretty awesome. I did some reading about white balance and that sort of stuff, so I have been wanting to try and get some more sunrise photos again with my phone. We haven't had a colorful one yet though.

This kind of place is mostly the places I wish to spend my recreational moment in, the tranquility of the environment would be so amazing and lovely. No noise from anyone to pissed one off. The place is so quite.

It is a beautiful spot, I avoid it in the warmer months as it is very popular and gets crowded, I much prefer going to places when it is quieter

I have realized my favorite time for taking photos is in the evening with the beautiful sunsets. It’s something about the lighting during mid sunset that is just breathtakingly beautiful and I love capturing shots during that time.

I absolutely love that fifth shot with the beautiful red and yellow tone. That rock detail is nice too.

That shot you love and hate, I really love 😄. That cloud cover looks amazing and I love the blue tones.

Beautiful shots JJ ~

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
