Sublime and Beautiful Sunday A few birds and a Squirrel

This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108.

For this Sundays post I am going with a few shots of Birds and one Squirrel I got shots of on a walk around the pond and through part of Buttonwood Park here in New Bedford with my big heavy 200-600MM Sony lens.

Starting with this colorful duck on the pond, I believe its a wood duck but I am really no expert on duck types so feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Next up we have a couple of Loons on the water just off from the Harbor Walk, OK this wasn't in Buttonwood Park but I thought it fit with the other images in this post, I took this while watching the Osprey nest hoping one of them would take off to fly.
I haven't used this big Sony lens much but its good for trying to capture shots of birds, but that's new for me and I am learning what settings need to change which I will discuss further during the post

Next up this one little duckling on the Pond at Button Wood park, now luckily i caught this shot while it was sitting still, these little ducklings when they move take off at a spring and the settings I was using for shutter speed was to slow to catch them clearly when they moved through the water, infact the term that came to mind as I watched them was dart through the water they really would move so fast and I got many shots with them a bit blurry, but a lesson learned for the next time I try to get shots of birds, I think for these ducks I need a shutter speed of 1/1000 or faster and for birds in flight somewhere around 1/2500 or faster.

But that all said I haven't been able to try the last few days as its been pretty windy most of the time and holding this big lens steady in strong winds is a challenge, but I will keep trying the forecast looks less windy in the days ahead.

These are really beautiful shots. Even though you said you're still learning. It means there's a lot I need to learn when it comes to photoshoots. Thanks so kindly for sharing.

The wood ducks are beautiful with all their colours. 😁
Yes, can imagine holding a lens like that with strong winds… it just won’t work. Hope the weather calms down a bit.
I’m also still experimenting with shutter speed etc. when shooting moving objects. Ok… I do need to get a new camera first now to continue hahaha
Great captures @tattoodjay the duckling is just cute. So fluffy… saw a few today too. But we were in the car so couldn’t stop.

Have a lovely Sunday further 👋🏻😁☀️

I love the wood Ducks, and birds take a lot of patience to get good shots generally and thats where i struggle standing still waiting patiently is something I just cant do LOL

but that said this past week I have been trying and gt what I think are some awesome shots now I just have to find the time to edit some and prepare posts

I am always fascinated by the birds people come across in other parts of the world. Very colourful and the Robin very different in colour to ours in the UK but unmistakably the same when it comes to it’s shape and poise.

The same for me, generally I have had bad luck or perhaps thats due to a lack of patience which I know is needed for Bird photography, but this past week I have had some luck and some even better bird shots coming soon

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Those are awesome, the ones in the water are almost like paintings! You might want to talk to Papillon Charity about settings, he takes loads of bird pictures :)
