Spring in the air Goslings

a few shots of goslings around the pond

Now I apologize if anyone is getting tired of photos of birds, but when I have bene out with my big Sony 200-500MM lens trying to catch shots of birds in trees or flying around, i have also got some shots of Goslings ( young geese) and ducklings, and for this post I thought I should share some of the shots of the goslings before spring is over.

Now the young geese all fluffy can be so cute and worth a few shots, but one has to be careful, some of the adult geese parent's can be downright ornery if you get to close to their nest or their off young ones, so thats one advantage of the big lens with a good zoom, I can get some images without getting to close to them and risking the ire of the parent geese

like this next shot it may appear I got quite close to it but I was zoomed in to 400 MM, so not to close, but close enough the what I think was the mother goose standing behind it started squawking away and raising its wings and heading towards me, so I backed off quickly and they settles down

Another goosling, this one had wondered off from the group, and i got this shot without agitating any of the geese

a few more of them strolling around looking for food

Another loner off for a stroll on its own, I guess like me, I do like peaceful walks on my won without many people about.

Hi Mr @tattoodjay, there are a lot of people here who enjoy different types of birds. In my opinion, your apology is out of place.

You're lucky to have a large lens and that ensures your shots will be more flexible and you can aim wherever you need within reach. That's one of the advantages of having a large lens.

Therefore, you have been spared the tantrums of the famous super fierce mother geese when they take care of their chicks. You're really lucky to keep a safe distance from them by taking distance and getting them close through your fine lens.

I never tire of bird photos. Baby geese are so cute but their parents are so obnoxious. I guess maybe we were all cute when we were little but look at us now 😁

I am glad to have go some good bird photos to share this year, and I do agree both that the goslings are cute the adult's can be so nasty and aggressive, and that maybe thats the same with humans often LOL

Those are some fantastic shots! Do take a tripod or rest the camera on something when you take the photos? If you don't then you must have some awesome muscle control to be able to zoom in that far and not end up with a blurry image! I found a bunny burrow in our back yard yesterday. I mowed around it. Now we just need to get Jovi to leave it alone!

Thanks so much I was very happy with them

For bird shots I have just been carrying the lens, they move so fast its easier to turn and follow the bird quicker, hand held than on a tripod

It is pretty heavy In-Use Weight 85.1 oz (2410g), but with a faster shutter speed it gets pretty crisp shots

cool with the bunny Burrow, i guess you will be keeping an eye on it

the Dr gave her a pill a muscle relaxer that was helping but it sent her sugar readings way up so she had to stop it, she is struggling with it giving a lot of pain hopefully a few more sessions of physical therapy she will see some improvement

You've been showing a variety of different birds. Maybe if you would show the same bird very day it might get boring after a week or two 😉
I'm using my long lens mainly for detail landscape shots but in future I want to do more wildlife photography too.

So you say !PIZZA goes better with !BEER ? I agree 😁
