Some shots from a recent walk in the historic District here in New Bedford MA

Good Morning, I hope all is well with you

Today I will share a few shots taken in the historic district downtown here in new Bedford

I had parked down by the port and it was a misty grey morning when I got there and I decided to walk across from the port into the historic district and ended up by the Elm Street Parking garage and decided to head up and see what the views were like from up there, it was still misty and moody so the views were not that special, but I took this shot looking along one of the cobblestone streets I had walked up to get to this spot

This is the same street but from ground level after I came down and out of the car park this shot may well have looked better in

I relaised as I look at these photos there from a coupl of different walks in this area looking at the different skies here i am back near tot he road I cross to get to the port, I do love they have kept the cobblestone streets here althought they are a bit of a pain to walk or drive ovcer,I think they look cool add add tot he historic charm of the area.

and Yes I know strictly speaking they are Belgian blocks and not cobblestones, but I always think of them as cobblestones streets

Those yellow lanterns really give it an old style feel! Very nice shots. I hope I get to visit this town one day. You always capture it so well.

I really like those cobblestone street shots. The first alley is very cool. Crisp clean no color. Really timeless.

This looks like a very unique area. Not the typical suburban or city scenes we see every day! Maybe because as you say it is a historical area...? It looks beautiful!

Thanks for sharing these photos with us!

I do love those cobblestone style streets for bringing the past to today with a little architectural style. They must be a pain to maintain if you don't have the specific skill and equipment like here where there is just concrete and asphalt.

I will have to take a shot of the street here I wish was cobblestone.

When it comes to cobblestones vs Belgian blocks I am completely oblivious. But now I see the difference! Beautiful shots, such a beautiful place!

I really adore such streets with cobblestones because they add a little bit of the past to the present day. In an area like this where there is only concrete and asphalt, are they hard to maintain without the right knowledge and tools. Must be centuries old!!!
