Some of the animals in the Zoo
Some of the animals in the Zoo
Some may have been a bit disappointed in my Market Friday post being about a zoo and the only animals I shared were fake ones on the carousel of an elephant sculpture, so I will try and make up for that with todays post
Starting with this Otter, who I though was kind of cute when it popped up into view with the leaves on its head

Now I will say here I am generally not a fan of Zoos where the animals are in small enclosures, where the animals seem to be cramped in a small space with little space to move, I must prefer to visit what I think are called Open Zoos
The open zoo concept offers visitors the opportunity to see wild animals in spacious and landscaped environments that simulate their natural habitats, and I have been lucky to visit a few around the world at different times although as I write this I forget which ones they were, I do seem to remember one in Zug Switzerland and the one in Singapore being beautiful with so much space for the animals.
The Buttonwood Park Zoo is for sure not an Open Zoo and to be honest I was not that too impressed with it on this visit, if I decide to visit a Zoo again I explore further afield and try a bigger one
One of the two Elephants at the Zoo this one seemed to be scratching its back with those hanging things

The other Elephant was just standing by the door the whole time I was there, it was kind of sad to see

Sitting and resting and my thought when I saw it, it really did not look like it was having fun

Seeing the cows, made me think back to when I was young and our family holidays used to be to an uncles farm, I used to love being up early and heading out with my Uncle and the dogs to bring the cows in for milking

The cows seemed to have a bit more space than most of the animals there

They also had a couple of horses

Enjoyed seeing the otter making some entertainment on his own.

The natural cow milk is more healthier than the refined one.and is only in the farm you can get that...

Ohh yes it tastes so much better
When I was young all our vacations were to the family farm and I helped milk the cows each morning and then once some was cooled I enjoyed it
The elephant obviously wanted something 😢
The otter looked nice, I think they always try to be happy. Did he have much room?
The elephant and otters had reasonable space and yes the otter was so cute
Lovely photography as always. That first photo is striking.
Thanks
I hope all is well with you
The beaver looks cute with the leaves on it
👍🙂👍
I so understand what you mean. I tend to visit the open zoos, where the animals have such a large natural area to roam almost free. The caged ones I try to avoid.
Thank you for sharing your captures of the animals this post.
I do think the otter is cute too with the leaves hahaha 🤣 funny.
Thanks for sharing @tattoodjay 👋🏻😎
