Something I found out about her online

The 90 guest American Star features a friendly and accommodating atmosphere, a hallmark of American Cruise Lines. Its small size allows for travel through the many narrow rivers and shallow bays of the Eastern Seaboard. The 2007 built ship has all the comforts of home and a casual ambiance on board. Spacious lounges are gathering points for cocktails, entertainment, or an afternoon lecture with panoramic views of the passing scenery, and the dining room offers a scrumptious regional menu that changes daily. Fellow travelers become fast friends as we explore U.S. rivers and waterways on American Star.

Staterooms follow the ship’s congenial nature. With lightly colored interior décor and a generous amount of space, each room is a comfortable sanctuary. Standard rooms begin at over 250 square feet. Second and third deck rooms feature a private balcony, while suites offer unprecedented space for this class of ship.

American Star is stabilized and also features a sun deck, putting green, and library. The ship is 220 feet long and was built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, MD.

Wow, that is pretty impressive. We have some small ships that do river cruises where I live too. You can take a ride up the Saginaw river and they give you all kinds of information along the way. They also do special events and parties too.

I've never taken a cruise. I have been on ferries a few times over the years. My favorite was taking the ferry to the San Francisco Giants game from Oakland. Fun trip and cool way to beat the traffic. Pulls up right at the stadium and comes back right after the game.

I've always wanted to do a river cruise but just haven't gotten to it yet. Beautiful pictures! Maybe summer would be a nice time for a cruise of the NE!
