Popes Island in the early morning

Good morning all have a terrific Tuesday

For this mornings post I am going to share a few shots from an early morning visits to Popes Island

It is a small Island between New Bedford and Fairhaven MA and is connected to the two by a couple of bridges, it has a marina, a childrens playground, a small park and is a nice spot to visit particularly for me in the mornings.

I often visited there well before the sun rises and stroll back and forth around the island enjoying the views as the sun rises.

Here I am looking out over a little dock beside a grassy area, some warm colors in the sky as the sun rises.

It was a cool morning when I took this next shot and most of these shots, even though it was a cool morning with a frost on the grass, there was some gorgeous warm colors in the sky

the silhouettes of buildings across the water are in Fairhaven, and on the right you can see the empty docks that are part of the Marina.

As this next shot not all the docks are empty over winter, but they are mostly deserted.

Later in the morning on another day, some snow was on the ground and looking at the mostly empty docks of the marina.

And another shot to finish off the post. This is the small dock I was looking over in the first photo on this post, looking at it from the side again with the Fairhaven skyline in the background.

Reflection of wooden pier with harbour empty, red glowing backdrop very effective photo!

Crunchy frost underfoot, have not enjoyed that in many years!

Inland North East of South Africa experiencing lots of flooding currently, everything upside down in wildlife. One small town had a 2 meter crocodile crossing the main road never seen before.

The weather is so messed up the world over, NZ got hit with a Cyclone and so much damage, my family that I heard from are stuck indoors luckily no flooding but no power

Friends and family in NZ have mentioned being indoors, no flooding fortunately, neither mentioned power problems, this might be regional.

Yeah Hawkes Bay where my Brothers and sisters are got hit pretty bad, lucky there all OK and dont have flooding in their houses, but all bridges and roads into the area have been damaged so they are isolated and no food in shops apparently a boat is due to bring in supplied soon

Not too good for the folks after last storm only a couple of weeks ago, hope food supplies get through soon.

Watched News Video last night on the region, it is devastating, one day food supply and two days of clean water, roads washed away. Thank goodness NZ is efficient with light aircraft, helicopters, many boats to ferry requirements once able to move around.

Surely is bad in places back there, the groups and public have really steppe dup in helping people and gettign supplies into places that were isolated, thanksfully

I find it very beautiful how the sea reflects the dark orange color of the sky. Quite an incredible landscape.

Beautiful shots! It's crazy how it can look like a totally different day or area just based on where the sun is in the sky. I would guessed these were totally different days. Just beautiful!

The shot down to the dock looks like it is inviting you to adventure... at least after you step over the ducks lol. I like the fiery reds especially the silhouetted buildings on the horizon.

La vue de la jetée m'a rappelé que j'adore la pêche et que s'il n'y a pas de pêcheurs, ce sera à cause de la météo, car elle vous invite à prendre une canne et Zaz, à attraper quelques poissons pour le petit déjeuner avec ce paysage devant vous D'autre part, j'ai l'impression que vos photos me font voyager par leur netteté et leur beauté. I had to double check the title... A sunrise this gorgeous 😍. I can't deal with how vibrant the orange is, I think I would be unable to take a photo for I would be completely in awe 😲
