Mono Monday with a touch of reds

Good Morning all I hope your weekend went well, its Monday and another week begins and for me that means a Mono MOnday post for me.

For this week I decided to go with somehting a little different, mono images but with a splash of color, some callthese color splash or selective color images, and I went through my unedited photos in my archives on Adobe Lightroom and looked for a few that I thought would fit well with this theme.

Starting with this shot by Fort Roman here in new Bedford and I did some light painting

Some have asked how I do the selective color images, and theres a couple of ways I generally do these, one is in lightroom and I adhect the saturation for all the colors other than the one i want to keep down to zero ie remove all the other colors and just leave the reds.

the other way I may do it in is Photoshop where i make a duplicate layer, convert that to Mono, add a layer mask and then paint back in the color I want to keep

This next shop is down on the road near the entranc eot the Cover walk the red line is from a passing car

This is in Fall River Heritage State Park, beside the Battleship cove museum, the red rails ont his bridge caught my eye and this was the first shot I was editing that mademe think of this wees theme

Interesting edits. I too have wondered how you do it, just haven't asked 😊 I really like that shot from the top of the parking garage. Interesting to see the port from that view - all the cranes and booms and chaos.

Amazing and beautiful at the same time, I love long exposures and light pullers. But also the black and white pictures, where only the light pullers are shown in color. Hats off, great photos.
