Mono Monday some images from recent walks
Good Morning
as is my habit on Mondays I am sharing a few Mono Images today
Starting with a shot of the New Bedford- Fairhaven swing truss bridge

between New Bedford and Fairhaven over Popes Island there are in fact three bridges, howver when people refer to the "New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge", only the middle span between the two is the actual bridge. This span, which was built between 1897 and 1899, is the one which includes the 283.2-foot-long (86.3 m) swing truss across the main channel into the northern half of the harbor. The entire bridge, approaches included, is approximately 0.2 miles (0.32 km) long, with the swing span being mostly west of the center of the bridge. The bridge still opens on a regular basis, with daily openings to allow the fishing fleet in and out of the inner harbor.
The bridge has been repaired numerous times in its lifetime, though there are occasional closings due to jammed gears.
I have heard there are plans to replace this bridge with a new lift bridge as it is becoming challenging to maintain but now sure when work on that will begin
Next up I am on the Fort Taber Beach

this next shot I am on the ramp leading to the swing bridge which is open at this point to allow ships to pass, with the low light and longer exposure at 6AM inthe morning the passing boats are like ghost ships but I wuite liked how this shot came out

The black and white theme of the photos made the scene very calm and beautiful, I never been into port and bridges since it's rare to see bridges here on my country since in metro city only river bridges can be seen and not all of them are pleasant to see however we have the best scenery which is the sea side that gives a peaceful and quite vibes specially when look at night, it was also known as MOA seaside.

Thanks 🙏
Those old bridges do become problems eventually, it's probably long overdue for a replacement. They are beautiful in their own way though. You got some great monochrome shots in there, well done!
Thanks, yeah I do like old bridgers so for me it will be a shame when its gone, but for those caught waiting when it gets stuck not so mush
Wow I absolutely love how your photos always feel so peaceful. Each time I look at them, I just smile 😊

Black and White is great for the beach and nautical themes. Especially this time of year. We are starting to get fog and mist in the morning. Mono really captures that same feel.
thanks and yes I do agree, I do love foggy mornings for MOno images
