Mono Monday in NYC

Mono Monday in NYC

Another weekend has been and gone and a new week has begin, may you all have a good one.

I was just thinking how when I worked weekends always seemed to fly by so quickly and the working weeks dragged on, that's one thing I have noticed a change since retiring, I guess as every day is kind of like the weekend for me now.

As is my habit for Mondays I am sharing a few Mono photos today

Starting with this shot of under and beside the Manhattan Bridge

The Manhattan Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the East River in New York City, connecting Lower Manhattan at Canal Street with Downtown Brooklyn at the Flatbush Avenue Extension. The main span is 1,480 ft (451 m) long, with the suspension cables being 3,224 ft (983 m) long. The bridge's total length is 6,855 ft (2,089 m). It is one of four toll-free vehicular bridges connecting Manhattan Island to Long Island; the nearby Brooklyn Bridge is just slightly further downtown, while the Queensboro and Williamsburg bridges are to the north.

The bridge was designed by Leon Moisseiff, built by The Phoenix Bridge Company, and opened to traffic on December 31, 1909. An innovative design, it was the first suspension bridge to employ Josef Melan's deflection theory for deck stiffening, resulting in the first use of a lightly-webbed weight-saving Warren truss for its construction. Considered the forerunner of modern suspension bridges, it served as the model for many of the record-breaking spans built in the first half of the twentieth century.

Next up with a splash of color is this clock on the Daily News Building at 4 New York Plaza

Wow!!!... This is a "Mono Monday" of very high visual quality... That first photo is simply an explosion of visual appeal, impeccable composition and a lavish fuge point... Worthy of a specialized magazine! .. And as always happens to me, I was captivated with that wonderful street photo where I can see the small kiosk (Millport Dairy) with the clerk... Awwww... That is sublime street photography!... Thank you very much for share... Your monochromatic Mondays are getting more and more charming friend!... I hope your health continues to go very, very, very well... I send hugs and thanks for sharing!

I remember working weekends, then having weekends off with a job, and now back in a balance of both worlds. I do things that need to be done on the professional front on weekends now but when I want to do them. Feels less like work but sure makes for challenging rest cycles.

Love your perspective and lifestyle as always.

Seems like you are missing New York? Or just missing getting out to take pictures???

I like the clock :) I just hope it isn't like Eden in Jfuji's posts 😲

she is doing physical therapy once a week and exercises each day and slowly getting more movement, the Dr on her last visit didnt seem to confident she would get full recovery and hinted that she may need surgery which she is not keen on but will see what he says on her next visit

I can only imagine that it made her even more determined... I'm praying for good results!
