Mono Monday Birds

Mono Monday Birds

I have bene putting off doing posts with photos of birds as I did a lot of them, but when I got this shot of the Osprey Nest and the parents with their two young ones, which when I edited it I felt it worked best in Mono

I thought why not do some more bird photos in Mono for a Mono Monday post

The osprey (Pandion haliaetus), also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. It is a large raptor reaching more than 60 cm (24 in) in length and 180 cm (71 in) across the wings. It is brown on the upperparts and predominantly greyish on the head and underparts

Ospreys usually mate for life

I am not sure how old the chicks are but I think it must be a few weeks there getting quite big now

Next up is a heron flying by one morning when I was walking out to Palmers Island

And here is another Osprey, this is not one of the two in the first photo as this photo was taken at Silvershell beach in Marion.

And a shot of a seagull as it is about to head into the water, what I liked about this one is how it kinf of looks as if it is admiring its reflection in the water

and finishing off with this duck by the pond in Buttonwood park, I do know from my walk with the Audubon society in the park one day that this is a common duck

As far as I can tell, these are eagles. Eagles build their nests at very high altitudes. Very nice photography. Thanks a lot sir @tattoodjay
for giving great post.

Great reflection in the gull shot! The contrast in the osprey is perfect for mono. Happy Monday 🙂

Markings on Osprey in flight totally amazing capture.

Each photograph has unique features very difficult to select when framed in mono.

I'm looking forward to when the Osprey youngsters start to fly - maybe you'll be able to take some funny photos when they try to land somewhere and it doesn't go as planned 😉

All cool photos, JJ, but most I love how the duck is smiling at you while she's showing you her back 😊

Look at those osprey chicks! Aren't they so adorable! They are certainly an enviable capture, JJ! Nature at its best! I have to admit, they are one of my favorite water birds. Their reversible outer toe allows them to grasp their catch with two toes in front and two behind. That is not like any other hawk.

I hope you are able to capture the flying lessons the babies will be looking forward to soon. Not so much for pictures, but, just to see it. It is fun and sometimes a little funny. :) They are a little awkward! :)

Anyway, your pictures are wonderful and fun to scroll through. Thanks~

Birds are sometimes amazing with their kind of Brain.. They are able to creat their housing in just anywhere so suitable to them.. nice shot man

I just wonder sometimes the way they are able to create their own nest just with their pointed mouth alone and their legs
