Fort Phoenix in the early morning light

Fort Phoenix in the early morning light

Today I will share a few shots from an early morning visit to Fort pHoenix and let me start telling a little about it

a little bit about Fort Phoenix
Fort Phoenix is a former American Revolutionary War-era fort located at the entrance to the Fairhaven-New Bedford harbor, south of U.S. 6 in Fort Phoenix Park in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. The fort was originally built in 1775 without a name, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Just off the fort, in Buzzards Bay, was the first naval engagement of the American Revolution, the Battle off Fairhaven on 14 May 1775.

On 5–6 September 1778, the fort was destroyed by the British when they raided the harbor. A force under Major Israel Fearing drove off the British, both at the fort and when they attempted an attack on the town the next day. The fort was then renamed Fort Fearing. In 1784 it was given the name "Fort Phoenix" after the mythical bird that rose from its own ashes

Walking past this tree you get a vie wof the beaches in the Park, often at this time of the morning i will se epeople walking there dogs on the beach, and i must say in this area the dog owners are pretty good at cleaning up after their dogs do their business, not so good in some of the other spots I go

Now I ediit almost all of my photos both in lightroom and photoshop, but I must say I am not an expert at either and have taught myself a few things here and there to get by with, but with it cooling down and me not getting out for so many walks i have had more time for editing and have been trying to learn a few new tricks

NOw color grading is one thing in lightroom I knew was there but had not looke dinto, and i am sure serious photographers will be scratching there head and thinking whta the hell you havent bene doing color grading, well I watched a couple of videos on youtube and have started to play around with it, and i must say why did I take so long to learn this part of the editing it can make such a big difference

plenty of spots to take a seat and enjoy the view

I like the color on the cannons in the last shot. And the tree silhouette always looks cool.

It's not just the dreamy branches that play an effect, the lowered sunny golden rays with the water mimicking the cloudy blue sky is the overall dramatic dance in front of a viewers eyes. Great Shot, worth more than a 1000 words! Uff. ☀️
