early morning at the Port

early morning at the Port

I havent done a walk down by the port for a little while now, for a mix of reasons, with the sunrise gettign later and me still heading out earlier I have mostly gone to other spots and bene playing around with light painting till some light starts appearing pre ssunrise, and the port isnt ideal for light painting as there is so much light there.

In fact I was planning on heading there this morning for my walk, but the car park I use normally to start my walk at was closed off, so maybe another day

the other reason I havent bene to the port is I have bene heading out during the day for some walks to catch the fall colors while they last.

But as I had been planning to go to the port today I thought why not do a port related post.

Every time I visit the port I walk by this view and its always one of the first photos I take

some of the commercial fleet

New Bedford was once the whaling capitol of the world, today the Port of New Bedford/Fairhaven is the largest fishing port in the northeast, and has been the nation's most valuable fishing port for the past sixteen years
I could not find recent numbers but I did find that

New Bedford ranked No. 1 for the value of seafood landed at its port for the 20th consecutive year in 2019, with $451 million worth of fish hauled in by its boats.

The very beautiful scenery around the harbor that you managed to capture my friend, you visited it too early, and I still saw some lights around the harbor still on, but the result was very awesome my friend.

Love the crisp, warm shot of the port in the dark. And then you capture the same look with blue background I like even better. Great shots 👍

$451 million is a whole lot of fish! It is a beautiful area in the morning, but sunrise is getting later and things are getting cooler at night. It must add to the challenge. Those are a nice series of shots in the dark with that nice blue on the last one. What a gorgeous area!
