Early morning at the port

Early morning at the port

Good Morning I hope allis wellwith you

Today I will sahe a few shots from an early morning walk at the port here in New Bedford

I do enjoy my walks there, I do prefer walks on the beaches i will admit but for a change from time to time I visit the port

Sometimes I am fortunate to capture the ships with some nice color sof sunrise inthe background

This spot near to where i generally park, has a couple of tour boats some police boats in the forground and then some commercial fishing boats inthe background

New Bedfor dis one of the busiest fishing ports in the country so there are always plenty of the boats docked at the port

there are a few marinas here with private boats but I do not get many photos of them as you have to be a member to get out on the docks at them

Some more of the commercial fishing boats

as you can see looking at the ship Tom Slaughter II these are clearly wotking boats with wear and tear apparent on them

New Bedford was once the whaling capitol of the world, today the Port of New Bedford/Fairhaven is the largest fishing port in the northeast, and has been the nation's most valuable fishing port for the past sixteen years
I could not find recent numbers but I did find that

New Bedford ranked No. 1 for the value of seafood landed at its port for the 20th consecutive year in 2019, with $451 million worth of fish hauled in by its boats. That was up by $20 million compared with the year before, and far outpaced the second-ranked Port of Naknek, Alaska, which had $289 million worth of landings.

but also at the port ther eis a spot when the Sea Streak Ferries load and depart and once a week we have these cruise ships come into the port on a NEw England coast line cruise

Impressive how good you captured the balance of the pallet of colors and the water reflection on this one!

Very nice. I always like how the masts and rigging all kind of mix together and stand out against the sky in the background. These are some quite impressive photos!

Love that second shot with the morning colors perfectly reflected on the smooth as glass, rich blue water. Lovely shot 😍

How nice to have a port nearby where you can go to take pictures of this style. The sky looks lovely too, and by the way, congratulations on these captures!

Private marinas are a pain, but I do understand why they do it. You can charge more for the privacy!

Those are some beautiful shots. New Bedford probably smells a lot better today than it did back then. It's a pretty place!
