early morning at the port

early morning at the port

Good morning and have a great day

Today I will share a few shots taken on walks around the port,
I do enjoy the port as one of the spots I go to here in New Bedford often I will go there on a day when after looking at the weather and radar maps I am not expecting much color as the sunrises, so instead of heading to a beach for the sunrise I head to the port, I find it so interesting checking out all the commercial fishing boats and the details on them.

Its funny I have never been a boat person, or into fishing for that matter, some of my family were and they tried getting me into fishing, now I did then and still do now love being by the water, but I guess I could say I am a hyper person and like to keep moving, standing in one spot waiting for a fish to bite just wasnt for me, but I do see how it can be relaxing for some.

Now starting with this shot of what I believe is a little tug boat, well little in size but they are so powerful when you see them towing large ships or pushing along well loaded barges

now I did say I nmostly go there when not expecting much color at sunrise, well sometimes I get it wrong and am lucky enough to see some nice color sinthe sky when at the port such as in this next shot looking over a few fishing boats

and even on what are mostly dull mornings one gets to see a splash of color

now i do love visiting the port on foggy mornings, see the boats semi covered or hiden in fog gives what I think is a cool surreal feel

The ones at sunrise are beautiful but the last one, in the fog, is enigmatic and very interesting.👌

Those are some great shots! I like that second one where there is just a hint of color there. We are supposed to have a heat index over 100 today, so I think I am going to be staying in as much as possible!

I think we are stuck under the same heat dome. Looks like we get to slug through the next few days together.

I saw that schools in Minnesota were closed the other day due to the heat. Being so far North as we are, very few of our classrooms have A/C, so it's a sweltering. You definitely want to stay away from the Middle School hallway when it gets this hot!

oh, I can relate. I remember my middle school and first year of high school. We didn't have AC and had the boiler radiator heat. Then the next year we moved into a new high school with central air and heat. It was a big change.

That sounds amazing! We have it in some areas, but it doesn't always work. Usually when we need it the most!

Very short tug boat unless the angle you captured it from, carving on side of what appears a wooden fishing boat with sunrise very effective.

I would love to see some of that fog on a harbor in the morning. It would be cool to witness and see it dissipate over time.

Glad your still getting out and about @tattoodjay. Those are some good snaps. I found myself staring at the last one of the boats in the fog the most. Something about it intrigued me I guess.

Some great pictures! I wouldn't do well as a fisherman for a living though, get sea sick to easily! The sunrise behind the boats is beautiful. I like foggy mornings too, I love the fog, I always have.

It looks like you're getting more energy back and taking some nice shots. Are the cars coming back any time soon?

Those are great shots. I’m not a sailing or being on a boat much. However I love old ships as might know from many of my coins and rounds.

Even though you're not a boat or fishing enthusiast, it's clear that the port holds a special place in your heart, offering peace and a unique perspective on the early morning hours. It's a great reminder that the best moments do happen when we least expect them, like catching the perfect sunrise even when we're not looking for it.🫶🏻
