Early morning at Fort Phoenix

Early morning at Fort Phoenix

Good Morning, thanks for visiting my post and may you have a good day

Today I will share a few shots from a visit to Fort Phoenix early one morning.
Fort pHoenix is a place I enjoy going to for my morning walks, but i have an issue with going there for most of the armer months, as you know i like going out for early morning walks before and during sunrise.

But the gates to the parking area at Fort Phoenix only open at 6AM, which at this time of year is OK as the sunrise is at 7AM today, but at this time its also cold inthe mornings and I get out for less Morning walks.

Now there is a small side street with parking spots right by the entrance to the park, I have parked there a few times when I have gone there for earlier sunrises around 5AM, but there are signs saying no Parking on that street from 9PM to 6AM, and I kind of feel the chances of a police offivce coming along and giving me a parking ticket are slim, sometimes I can be a strickler for following the rules and choose not to park there and hence go somewhere else

So these shots are from a few weeks back whenthe sunrise as about 6:45 and now lets get to the photos
NOw i have never stopped and sat on this benches on my visits here, but on the one time my wife went with me to Fort Phoenix to get a walk and catch the sunset there, she did sit and relax on one of these benches as I was walking bakc and forth taking photos

But even though I mever sit on them I love this view

this park also has a portion of the Hurrican Barrier walls, which goes out behind me as I took this shot, and ther eis a gate that can be closed if a severe storm approaches that connects to the New Bedford side of the hurrican barrier wall

It's crazy just how big those anchors are. We have some of them laying around in strategic places where I live. The freighters are just huge, so it only make sense they would need an anchor that big, but until you stand next to one it is hard to imagine!

It's really very beautiful. Setting and dawn is the best time for bright photos.

Aren't benches just for taking pictures? A bit like Adirondack chairs 😀
As always beautiful pics... Have a great day

Man that orange to blue transition is magical. I haven’t been able to shoot any sunset shots lately for some sky views as the sun has been setting before damn 5 o’clock here!

Morning shots have been no better due to thecwinter weather but there will come a day!

Nice shots and thanks for sharing my friend.

What a beautiful sunrise, great pictures you caught there. Too bad it's so cold in the mornings, especially with no cloud cover all the heat from the day escapes.
