by the pond in Buttonwood Park

Good morning I hope life is treatiing you well

One spot I had not visited for a while was Buttonwood park here in New bedford, which is kind of funnyor weird as it is the closest spot to where i live and such a beautiful park many call it the jewel of the city and I think that is quite apt.

Actually thats not totally true I have visited the area maybe three times recently, but those were visited tot he Zoo which is inthe park, and I was making the most out of my annual pass.

Its a spot I more visit when I head out for a walk during the day but as you probably know most of my walks are early morning walks and I tend to head to beaches or other spots and catch the sunrise over the sea.

Here are some shots of a fairly recent visit there

starting looking over the pond at what is called the warming house in that back in the day in winter this pond would freeze over quite solid and many would go ice skating there and hence the building was a spot to go inside and warm up after skating

I have not seen anyone skating onthis pond since i moved here, but then again I do not go out that much for photo walks on the really cold days of winter when the pond perhaps is frozen solid enough to skate on

from a similar spot looking to the left over the pond

looking towards the warming house again

you may wonder why I do not go here at Sunris eoften, with its location often if the color sof sunrise are just onthe horizon you do not see them here whereas you can on the coastline, thats not to say there arent some nice color sover this pond at times, but for that you need clouds at just the right spot and the colors generally come as or after the sun rises

I do enjoy walking around this pond, I generally park near this sid elooking over the pond at the warming house and then walk around to by the house and into the park, although most of todays shots are on this side looking over the pond

and for those that do not want to walk to much there are a couple of benches to sit and rest ones legs

That building all by itself there kind of reminds me of the park and pond you used to visit at your old town.

The warming house is quite good subject. I like the first shot best with the lighting. The last is interesting too with the bench in the frame.

Oh, that's great. It's such a really quiet place that even the water is standing and not moving.
