at the port,

at the port,

Good Morning, I hope your weekend is starting off well.

today I will share a few shots of a walk around the port her ein New Bedford, and as I type that I camimagine some reading that and saying

Ohh no the port again

Sorry about that I have shared a few posts at the port recently and I do try and mix it up, the problem isn't that its the only place I have bene walking as I have bene out and about to different spots quite a bit over the last couple of weeks

In fact that is the problem I have bene out walking so many mornings I havent really had time to edit the photos from allthe walks, often when at beaches or parks catching the sunrise I take three shots at different exposure settings and merging the three shots together takes time and I am building up a lot of photos to edit

Often the port shots are single exposures and hence quicker to edit and why there is another port walk post today

let me at least start with something different, I noticed this new piece of art the other day I didnt think to check the name of the piece but I thought it was cool and came up witht he name cyborg surfer

and now I just searched on google and found this

Ed McAloon, “Surfin’ USA”: “My work entitled ‘Surfin’ USA’ evokes memories of summer days on the South End beaches of New Bedford when growing up in the sixties. The images of the beach and surf culture were conjured up with the music of the day including The Beach Boys and other bands. In this piece, I attempt to demonstrate the synergy of the surfer with the natural environment of the sea. While most of my work includes varying levels of abstraction, I chose to create this all-steel sculpture as an entirely representational form.”

That looks like a pretty cool cruise ship. I'd like to go on one of those smaller ones at some point. I don't think I could handle one of the big ones. That is also a cool sculpture. It makes me think of the movie iRobot.

I would love to do that cruise, but know ther eis no way my wife would ever agree and do it, she has a fear of ships from a scary experience falling off a boat when she was younger

I can understand that. I'm just not fond of large crowds, so having so many people in small space freaks me out. I can't help but think of it as one big petri dish.

Yeah I used to think I would love doing a cruise on a big ship but then thought about how I hate crowds and thoughts thats not for me

I see adds for the river cruises in Europe smaller ships and I like the idea of that

The water almost looks like ice because of how still it is.

taking long exposure sof 30 seconds or more in the dark gives that cool ice like look to the water

I was wondering about that but couldn't put it in technical terms. The effect looks really cool.

Ohh no the port again

Dont worry @tattoodjay, ports are good, they are the connection points of sea and land for explorers. All images are great, but particularly this one below is so crisp and eye catching. thanks for sharing.
