CCC's Street Art Contest #199. Graffiti in the yard of an old factory
‘The sea is arranged like this: the sea, the beach, the railway station...’ - I remember this phrase from Alice in Wonderland from my childhood. The play was recorded on a vinyl record, with conversations and songs accompanied by a slight crackle. Who knew that this crackle would be remembered fondly decades later... The purest digital sound would seem too pure. Crackling vinyl and radio interference - that's what it takes to make a perfect audio recording.
But I digress. I was going to tell you about the sea and the beach - or rather, about the old factory building on the bay. If you go through the courtyard system, you can actually get to the beach. But on the other side of the building is not a railway station at all, but an ordinary city street. Buses run along this street, and you can get to the beach by regular public transport. Today I am going to show some graffiti in the courtyard and corridors of the old factory building. I want to tell about the sea and the beach too, but another time.
The old factory moved out of this building a long time ago, and there are new tenants in the workshops and offices. At the same time, the courtyard (and sometimes the corridors) started to fill with graffiti. There are no (or almost no) meaningless tags, but a lot of interesting drawings. Sometimes ordinary information boards or inscriptions look like art objects. And sometimes art objects masquerade as informational messages. I took a picture of the text ‘Sorry for the trouble’ - it seems to fit perfectly into the exterior of the courtyard.
I took a few photos as I walked from the bus stop towards the bay, and a few more in the corridors of one of the buildings. In addition to workshops and studios, there are small shops in the building. But I especially liked the yellow door labelled ‘just like us’. I thought it was a special sports section for grandmothers, but I was a little mistaken. Behind the door was the office of a charity organisation.
I had already walked these corridors in winter, but this time I came across new works - the ones I didn't see last time because I turned somewhere else. The interior of the old building is a rather complex system of stairs and corridors. You could get lost here if you didn't occasionally come across stairs that lead down to the courtyard.

Thank you very much dear friend @jlufer!
I like all of these works, but perhaps the cat and the little steamboat are the cutest.
Have a great day!
Cool selection of StreetArt especially the one you choose for the contest. But I like the little boat, always interesting when you come across this kind of work. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
