"Threads" And LeoGlossary: Really Going To Accelerate Things For Leofinance

(Edited)

By now, most in the Leofinance family heard about "threads". This is the infrastructure test that is going to be part of Leofinance.io in the next few weeks. Essentially, it is bringing microblogging to the blockchain, something that we really have no seen before.

There are a few applications out there that are trying to recreate what Twitter is. However, we see some shortcomings. One major drawback is those building on EVM forks from Ethereum. This is a no go in my opinion simply due to the transaction fees.

On Hive, we do not have this issue. Due to the Resource Credit system, we simply need enough Hive staked to give up the ability to engage with the network. Some might find with microblogging, they require a bit more.

Anyway, this is going to really accelerate things for Leofinance. We are going to see some numbers shoot up in a short period of time. This is something many of us were waiting for.

Another Piece In The Social Media Engine

Hive is expanding the social media offerings. We obviously have blogging covered. Also, since the introduction of @listnerds, we saw an email system tied to Hive emerge. This is another way people can "advertise" their content.

Threads will eventually give people a Twitter like experience. We might see some limitations in the first stage since it will be a MVP. However, with technology, we know the more the developers bring out upgrades, the more features that get added.

So what does this mean for Leofinance and its users.

To start, it will create a lot more webpages. We need to understand that each thread will have its own URL. If we suddenly see thousands of threads added daily, that could really enhance the size of the entire site.

At the same time, it is short form content. Hence it is ideal for sending out one's own articles, as a form of marketing. Of course, this instantly creates a second link to the post.

Certainly this will help newer users to spread their work and engage in people they otherwise would not come across.

LeoGlossary

Which brings us to the gist of this article. When it comes to link building, internally at least, we can kick this into overdrive.

The Main Menu of LeoGlossary is now over 400 words. We have a goal to cross 500 on the main page by next week. There is also the Leofinance Main Menu which is dedicated to Leofinance content. Finally, there is SplinterGlossary which is focused upon Splinterlands terms.

The key to keep in mind is that all the activity is on the Leofinance site. This means that anything done is helping to build Leofinance.

For this reason, LeoGlossary terms are idea to be linked in Threads. If there is a conversation about synthetic assets, we simply can add a link to our response.

This will create more backlinks to the LeoGlossary content, helping it with the rankings over time.

Obviously, a link on a 240 character post isn't going to carry a ton of weight with Google. The point is that, over time, we get thousands of these going.

If Threads is the game changer many of us envision, this is a perfect opportunity to keep filling the database with more links.

Threads Will Add Thousands Of "Comments" Per Day

For the last year, we tried to encourage people to engage through commenting. It was met with mixed results. Ultimately, Leofinance had difficulty crossing 10,000 comments in a week.

With Threads, this should be no problem. It is easy to see how, with the existing userbase, we could have thousands of comments per day going. After all, how many Tweets (including commenting on there) are send out each day by people from Hive?

At the same time, how much activity takes place in Discord. This is something that can easily come on chain. There will be less reason to chit chat in the Discord server when there are opportunities to easily engage through the different Threads.

In this way, we can see things really starting to come together.

It is time to take Leofinance to the next level. The development team appears to be doing its job. Now it is up to the community to step in and accelerate things.

I am definitely looking forward to the threads because it means that Project Blank might be closing in. Originally, I wasn't really optimistic about it coming out this year.
