LeoThreads: Micro-Earning Is Starting

avatar

The introduction of the new user interface has been a resounding success on Leofinance so far. We are seeing lots of users enjoying the interaction that comes with microblogging.

Of late, it seems like there are some tag battles forming as different communities want to get their tags trending.

The latest to join the fray was the #spanish tag that hit trending earlier.

What we hopefully will see is communities starting to tap into their members to try and push their tags to the top. This will get them notariety, perhaps spreading the reach. LeoThreads could be a powerful tool on Hive.

As this grows, we are starting to see micro-earning enter the picture. This is a concept that accompanies microblogging on Hive. LeoThreads is bringing this into play.

To provide an example, here is a snapshot of my earnings (in LEO):

microearning.png

Highlighted are 9 payouts that came from LeoThreads. As we can see, some author rewards, which amounts to a few LEO. The rest (7 payouts) were from curation. Some could claim that is misleading since it is based upon my stake.

However, keep in mind the author of the posts also received the same amount from my vote. That means the others got the same .32 or .33 LEO. I cannot tell you how many times a day this is given but much of my Voting Power (VP) is going to LeoThreads.

By the way, large LEO holders such as Khal and Onealfa are also in LeoThreads supporting content.

Micro-Earning Adds Up

Many feel that micro-earning is not worth it. Looking at the price of LEO, we all admit that .33 is not much, maybe a couple cents. That said, does everyone realize what that means?

People are earning a couple cents on LeoThreads for putting out Threads that are 140 characters. This is happening multiple times throughout the day.

Of course, this is just what I am curating, this does not include what others are doing. We are also focusing upon LEO, not HP or HBD that is paid out in addition. My vote has some value with them also.

There is another angle to all this.

We have people posting all kinds of content. A lot of this is stuff I would never see if not for LeoThreads. We also have the situation where I might not upvote the posts that is linked yet will give the Thread an upvote. This is helping to feed a bit more into the individual's wallet.

Everyone is looking for the big payday. That is understandable. However, a path to that might be getting recognition in other ways. In the meantime, earning even in small amounts is helpful.

We also have to keep in mind the compound nature of Hive. Anything that goes into one's wallet, such as LEO, can be powered up. This will increase that individual's vote value which increases the curation reward. Again, this will be incremental but it will go exponential for a small account.

The Future Of Micro-Earning

My guess is that LeoThreads, if it gains in value, will create more micro-earning opportunities. There are many people who are on Leofinance with some Leo Power. As the number of users grow, the amount of the total LEO going to threads will increase.

Essentially, more of the LEO reward pool will be heading to LeoThreads. This will alter the make up of the platform.

We know LeoThreads is designed to be a focal point of Leofinance. This will be reflected in the voting. The new UI makes it obvious where things are heading. Hence, those who are immersing themselves in LeoThreads will likely be taking a larger part of the overall reward pool.

Since there is a shift underway, this is not something to be overlooked.

Micro-earning is going to be a standard for content creators going forward. Curation, Threading, and Liketu posts all can feed coins and tokens into people's wallets. We are going to see many more opportunities going forward.

One final thought is the idea of shorts. What happens if shorts, which propelled TikTok to the top of the social media world, is integrated into LeoThreads? Then someone could upload a quick video into LeoThreads and earn a few cents off that.

All for less than a minute of time.

This is only going to keep expanding.

Going to pile up some threads starting tonight, not just memes and none sense, but yes micro earnings on LEO could turn to be very lucrative when LEO goes to $1

There's some very evident growth in usage going on in Threads. More people are using, seeing, and microblogging. The increased engagement alone will bolster earnings simply because more views over time = more votes. Engagement will be key here. Let's see how my own attempt at engagement, using my own tag, works out!

What you said about earning on leothreads is accurate. I know that i never start making post daily on hive but threads give me author reward daily....

Thank you for all this highlights

I am sure that with time more people will find it comfortable threading than making posts!

Threading doesn't need much time and preparation, unlike posting.

Anyway let us wait and see with time.

Leothreads is introducing a new way to earn on Hive. I think overtime the earnings wouldn't be micro anymore especially when the platform grows in size and number. I just wonder what would happen to our voting power. It will drain pretty fast for users with less stake.

One big payday versus thousands or hundreds of micro earning? I will vote for micro-earning in this case.

I have to say I am impressive after first different thoughts - do not care about the earning part a lot but the onboarding opps are huge.
