How To Use LeoGlossary To Link Terms In Articles
It was brought to my attention that some are not clear how to use LeoGlossary to link terms in their articles.
Therefore, I decided to put together a tutorial to help people along.
LeoGlossary Main Menu
LeoGlossary starts with the Main Menu. Here is where you can access whatever is in the database.
From here we have a few choices.
One is to access some Glossaries and ready made pages. The other is to use the alphabetical grid to access the term you are seeking.
Once we select a letter, the list of terms will come up.
Click on the term and we get the page.
As we can see, there is a link at the bottom of each page back to the Main Menu. This makes it easy to navigate.
How To Link
Once we have the page, we copy the URL.
Then we have to do a bit of markdown coding in our post.
Hence if we are going to link the term "data", we will for start with:
[data]
this is immediately followed by (no space):
What they are put together we get Data. Putting our cursor over the term shows the URL.
Why Use Links In Articles
There are a few reasons why we want to use links in our articles.
To start, it provides the reader with more informaiton. Often we are writing and the reader might not be aware of all the terms we are using. This can be true for something unfamiliar such as cryptocurrency or blockchain. This means we are adding value to the reader.
At the same time, linking can help the articles ranking in the search engines. If we are linking on certain keywords, this helps Google to understand things a bit better. This can enhance our placement, hopefully establishing us as experts.
Finally, this is a great way to help drive traffic to LeoGlossary and, in turn, Leofinance. We are looking at making this an epicenter of financial information. Having links in articles can help to steer people in that direction. This is especially true for articles we are seeing out on Twitter or Facebook.
Over the next year, we will be expanding the database even further. The goal is to reach 5,000 terms by the end of 2023. This is something that should provide a strong foundation going forward.

This truly is going to be one of the best tools in all of crypto. It will obviously take some time, but the more we link, the stronger it becomes, and the more it gets picked up by the search engines. The great thing is it just keeps building. It's not like we have to go back and redo a bunch of stuff. Yes, it will need to receive maintenance to update things and keep it fresh, but the more it gets hit, the more it will get hit in the future. This is really a great idea!
Just keep using it everyone!!!

Each day more is added. We will see the glossary grow in size throughout 2023. My goal is to at least double it in the New Year.

I was the one that asked about it and dropped it as a comment in one of your posts, now am clarified, thank you boss.
It's very tedious - it should work automatically - is it difficult to do? someone has to do it.

It depends upon who has control of the front end.
This is not me so we have to do tedious.

The part I love the most about creating content on Hive in the Leofinance community is that 30-45 minutes I have to add links before I hit the publish button. 🙈
🤣
Oh my goodness... Why is he laughing at me 😂

Oh no! Even my partner is laughing. What is going on? 🥺😂
Reblogging because I have had some queries about it :)

Thanks for this guide, I have a quick question for you, do we have to use the link or all time?
An example is when I have the word Hive or blockchain repeated many times in my post, should I link it once or throughout where the word appears?

I am so incorporating this in all my articles this year
