The US DOJ went after a Hong Kong exhange that was laundering money on behalf of the Russians.
In this video I discuss how exchanges are a weak point. This is a case where the tenets of blockchain were moved and there is a point of vulnerability.

Yep! I don't get why people keep flocking to exchanges when decentralization is the point!
There are decentralized exchanges too.
I mean, you can, but you would have to annihilate the entirety of the internet and all sources of electricity. If that happens, we have worse problems to worry about.
Well said, the US does this all the time...attacking the "relative enemy". I am not out here to say that Hong Kong is right, but what makes the DOJ right is that they simply said so...its such a weird stance.

The exchanges were always going to be targeted and I think their reasoning can probably be applied to most exchanges. I think they can make up whatever reason they want and use the data that they think works towards that.
